Ben Turner (born 3 February 1980) is a British Iranian actor, most notable for his roles as nurse Jay Faldren on BBC's ''Casualty'', the lead role of Amir in multiple stage adaptations of ''The Kite Runner'', and as Louis XV in ''Doctor Who''. Life and career Turner was born in Hackney, London to an English father, actor Graham Turner of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and an Iranian mother. He was educated at Dulwich College, well known for its pedigree of actors including the founder Edward Alleyn. He then trained as an actor at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Benjamin Brecknell Turner
Benjamin Brecknell Turner (1815–1894) was one of Britain's first photographers and a founding-member of the Photographic Society of London which was formed in 1853. His images were based on the traditionally 'picturesque' styles and subjects of the generation of watercolour painters before him. Born in London, Turner was the eldest son in a family of eight children. The family lived above the family tallow- chandlers business where candles and saddle-soaps were made and sold. At sixteen Benjamin became an apprentice to his father. He joined the Worshipful Company of Tallow Chandlers in 1837 and became a Freeman of the City of London in 1838. On 17 August 1847, he married Agnes Chamberlain, a member of the Worcester China family. In 1849 Turner took out a licence to practice paper negative ( Calotype or Talbotype) photography from its inventor, William Henry Fox Talbot. Sir Ben Turner (1863 – 30 September 1942) was an English trade unionist and Labour Party Member of Parliament (MP) for Batley and Morley from 1922 to 1924 and from 1929 to 1931. Born in Holmfirth, Turner later claimed that his family had connections to the Chartist and Luddite movements. Ben Turner (born 23 January 1984 in Brisbane) is an Australian weightlifter best known for his performances at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, where he won the gold medal in the 69 kg category, and the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India, where he won Silver in the 77 kg category. Turner is also a coach and has worked with former top Australian female lifter Erika Yamasaki. Early life Turner grew up in Carina, an eastern suburb in Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland.
