Benjamin Herrmann
Benjamin Herrmann (born July 17, 1971) is a German film producer and distributor. Career Benjamin Herrmann studied Directing at the Munich Academy for Film and Television. After graduating with his award-winning short film '' Der große Lacher (The Big Laugh)'' in 1997, he headed private broadcaster ProSieben’s production department, where he executive produced over 40 TV movies and feature films, including Germany’s most successful film of all times, ''Der Schuh des Manitu (Manitou's Shoe)''. From 2000 to 2006 he was managing director of Germany’s mini-major Senator’s production and distribution outfits. Lasse Hallström
Lars Sven "Lasse" Hallström (; born 2 June 1946) is a Swedish film director. He first became known for directing almost all the music videos by the pop group ABBA, and subsequently became a feature film director. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for ''My Life as a Dog (Mitt liv som hund)'' (1985) and later for ''The Cider House Rules'' (1999). ''Desert Flower: The Extraordinary Journey of a Desert Nomad'' is an autobiographical book written by Waris Dirie and Cathleen Miller, published in 1998 about the life of Somali model, Waris Dirie. Summary Despite suffering female genital mutilation (FGM) at the age of five, and its life-long consequences, Waris Dirie escaped from her native Galkayo, Somalia, fleeing to Mogadishu to escape an arranged marriage. Moving with relatives to London, she worked for a while at a McDonald's and was discovered by chance by fashion photographer Terence Donovan. Sherry Hormann
Sherry Hormann (born 20 April 1960) is a German-American film director. Hormann is best known for her movies ''Guys and Balls'' (2004), '' Desert Flower'' (2009) and '' 3096 Days'' (2013). ''North Face'' (german: Nordwand) is a 2008 German historical fiction film directed by Philipp Stölzl and starring Benno Fürmann, Florian Lukas, Johanna Wokalek, and Ulrich Tukur. Based on the famous 1936 attempt to climb the Eiger north face, the film is about two German climbers involved in a competition to climb the most dangerous rock face in the Alps. Philipp Stölzl (born 1967 in Munich) is a German director. He began to direct music videos in the mid-1990s and directed his first feature film in 2002. Life and career Philipp Stölzl was trained as a set and costume designer at the Münchner Kammerspielen where he graduated in 1988. He worked in these professions in German theatres and began to work for films in 1996. He debuted as director in 1998 with the music video for Rammstein's "Du riechst so gut". Doris Dörrie (; born 26 May 1955) is a German film director, producer and author. Biography Born in Hanover, Dörrie completed her secondary education there in 1973. The same year, she began a two-year attendance in film studies in the drama department of the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. She then studied at the New School of Social Research in New York. She worked odd jobs in cafés and as a film presenter in New York's Goethe-Institut. In 1975, back in Germany, Dörrie began to study at the University of Television and Film Munich. She wrote film reviews for the '' Süddeutsche Zeitung'', where she was also assistant editor.
