Ben Robbins (rugby)
Benjamin Anthony Robbins (born 27 December 1976) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Brisbane Bears, the Brisbane Lions and North Melbourne Football Club, North Melbourne in the Australian Football League (AFL). Robbins, who was from Maffra, played in the TAC Cup for Gippsland Power before he was recruited by the West Coast Eagles with the 33rd pick of the 1993 AFL draft. The son of former Richmond Football Club, Richmond player Graham Robbins, he chose to remain in Gippsland and it was not until 1995 that he made the move to Western Australia. Robbins was unable to break into the Eagles team and instead spent the season playing for Perth Football Club, Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). As a result, he was traded at the end of the year to the Brisbane Bears, for pick 66 in the draft which was used on Neil Marshall. Fitzroy Football Club
The Fitzroy Football Club is an Australian rules football club currently competing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). Formed in 1883 to represent the inner-Melbourne municipality of Fitzroy, the club was a member of the Victorian Football Association (VFA), before becoming a foundation member of the breakaway Victorian Football League (VFL/AFL) in 1897. Fitzroy won a total of eight VFL premierships, of which seven (1898, 1899, 1904, 1905, 1913, 1916 and 1922) were won whilst they were nicknamed the Maroons and one (1944) as the Gorillas. The decision of the club to change its nickname to the Lions in 1957 coincided with what history now records as the beginning of decades of poor on-field performance and financial losses that eventually resulted in the club being placed into administration, ultimately leaving the AFL at the end of the 1996 season. The Port Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed The Borough, is an Australian rules football club based in the inner-Melbourne suburb of Port Melbourne. The club was founded in 1874 and has been competing in the Victorian Football Association/League (VFL) since 1886.
