Benjamin Harvey Hill
Benjamin Harvey Hill (September 14, 1823 – August 16, 1882) was a politician whose career spanned state and national politics, and the Civil War. He served in the Georgia legislature in both houses. Although he had opposed secession, he stayed with the South and served as a Confederate senator representing Georgia. After the war and near the end of the Reconstruction era, Hill was elected in 1874 to the United States House of Representatives, and in 1877 as a U.S. senator from Georgia. He served in the Senate until his death in 1882. Early life Hill was born September 14, 1823, in Hillsboro, Georgia, in Jasper County. He was of Welsh and Irish American ancestry. He attended the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, where he was a member of the Demosthenian Literary Society. He graduated in 1844 with first honors. Benjamin Hill (born 5 February 1990) is an Australian cyclist, who last rode for UCI Continental team . Career Hill was suspended for 2 years from cycling by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority for testing positive for Methylhexanamine during the 2012 Tour of Tasmania. Hill admitted the error immediately after a teammate gave him the substance instead of caffeine. Hill tried to fight his suspension stating it was unfair he was given 2 years when people who purposely blood doped got 6 months. In the 2016 cycling season Hill was supposed to ride for Dynamo Cover, a new UCI Continental team which folded before it even started racing. Benhill
Benhill is a council housing estate in Sutton, London, originally built in the 1960s upon woodland. It is east of Sutton High Street around Brunswick Road. The estate was later renovated and regenerated. The name "Ben Hill" appears on 18th century maps. The wider surrounding area whose initial development of large villas dates from Victorian times was intended for the upper middle class, whereas nearby Newtown - built around the same time as Benhill - was intended for the lower class. Construction began in 1852. However, development of it was slow and by 1913 there were still many empty building plots.
