Benjamin Halloran (born 14 June 1992) is an Australian football player who plays as a winger for A-League Men club Adelaide United. Club career Gold Coast United Halloran made his debut for Gold Coast United as a substitute in their Round 4, 1–0 loss to Melbourne Victory in the 2010–11 season. On 6 January 2011, Gold Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg addressed the speculation that the talented player may leave the club however Bleiberg was adamant that the player was contracted for another two years and unless a sizable transfer offer was made the player would remain at Gold Coast. In the 2010–11 A-League season, Halloran started two games and came on as substitute twice. The next season Halloran established himself as a future Socceroos player. 2010–11 A-League
The 2010–11 A-League was the 34th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the sixth season of the Australian A-League soccer competition since its establishment in 2004. The home and away season began on 5 August 2010 and concluded on 13 February 2011. The addition of Melbourne Heart brought the total number of teams to 11. Brisbane Roar finished Premiers with two games remaining in the season following an Australian record unbeaten run, and later completed the Premiership and Championship double by beating the Central Coast Mariners in the Grand Final. Rule changes A new rule at the start of the season allows for two marquee players to be signed without salary cap restraints so long as one is Australian with a certain number of qualifications to be determined by FFA. The 2012–13 Brisbane Roar season was their eighth season in the A-League. As runner up in 2011–12, Brisbane were looking to continue their run of good form in the League, aiming to win their second Premiership. The Roar were also looking to replicate their Championship success which saw them become the first A-League team to win back-to-back Championships. A-League Men (known as the Isuzu UTE A-League for sponsorship reasons) is the highest-level professional men's soccer league in Australia and New Zealand. At the top of the Australian league system, it is the country's premier men's competition for the sport. A-League Men was established in 2004 as the A-League by the Football Federation Australia (FFA) as a successor to the National Soccer League (NSL) and competition commenced in August 2005. The 2012–13 A-League was the 36th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the eighth season of the Australian A-League since its establishment in 2004. The 2012–13 season saw the introduction of a new Western Sydney-based team, the return of Newcastle Jets FC after their A-League licence was returned by FFA, and the end of Gold Coast United after they were removed from the competition at the end of the previous season.
