Ben Green (cricketer)
Benjamin George Frederick Green (born 28 September 1997) is an English cricketer who plays for Somerset County Cricket Club. He is a right-arm fast-medium pace bowler who also bats right-handed. He progressed through the Devon age group system before being offered a first team contract during the 2016 season. On 29 July 2016 he made his Twenty20 debut for Somerset against Hampshire in the 2016 NatWest t20 Blast. On 3 August 2016, Green signed a three-year professional contract with Somerset. He made his List A debut for Somerset in the 2018 Royal London One-Day Cup on 29 May 2018. He made his first-class debut for Somerset in the 2018 County Championship on 4 September 2018. Exeter
Exeter () is a city in Devon, South West England. It is situated on the River Exe, approximately northeast of Plymouth and southwest of Bristol. 2018 Royal London One-Day Cup
The 2018 Royal London One-Day Cup tournament was a limited overs cricket competition that formed part of the 2018 domestic cricket season in England and Wales. Matches were contested over 50 overs per side and have List A cricket status. All 18 first-class counties competed in the tournament, which ran from the middle of May until the end of June, when the final took place at Lord's. Nottinghamshire were the defending champions of the tournament, having beaten Surrey in 2017 final. Format The competition featured two groups of nine teams, based on a rough North–South geographical split. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Royal London Cup
The One-Day Cup is a fifty-over limited overs cricket competition for the England and Wales first-class counties. It began in 2014 as a replacement for the ECB 40 tournament, which ran from 2010 to 2013. In contrast to its 40-over predecessor, the number of overs per innings was set at 50 to bring the competition in line with One-Day Internationals. The 2020 tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Participating teams and format The competition begins with a round-robin tournament featuring two groups of nine. The groups were organised geographically with a North group and a South group until 2021, since when the groups have decided by a draw. As of 2023, the top three teams in each group progress to the knock-out stage of the competition. The final was held at Lord's until 2020, when it was moved to Trent Bridge. Durham County Cricket Club (rebranded as Durham Cricket in February 2019) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Durham. Glamorgan County Cricket Club ( cy, Criced Morgannwg) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Glamorgan ( cy, Morgannwg). Founded in 1888, Glamorgan held minor status at first and was a prominent member of the early Minor Counties Championship before the First World War. In cricket, a five-wicket haul (also known as a "five–for" or "fifer") occurs when a bowler takes five or more wickets in a single innings. This is regarded by critics as a notable achievement, equivalent to a century from a batsman. Taking a five-wicket haul at Lord's earns the bowler a place on the Lord's honours boards. 2022 T20 Blast
The 2022 Vitality Blast was the 2022 season of the T20 Blast, a professional Twenty20 cricket league played in England and Wales. The tournament was held from 25 May to 16 July 2022. It was the fifth season in which the domestic T20 competition, run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), was branded as the Vitality Blast due to the tournament's sponsorship reason.
