Ben Blackwell
Benjamin Jesse Blackwell (born June 12, 1982) is the creator and director of Cass Records, one of two drummers in the Detroit-based rock band The Dirtbombs, a music writer, and a vinyl record collector. He's a co-founder and minority owner at Third Man Records and the official archivist of The White Stripes. Early life Ben Blackwell was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 12, 1982, to Maureen Gillis and Morris Blackwell. He is the nephew of Jack White, whose birth name is John Gillis. He attended Wayne State University for three years, with a concentration in journalism, before withdrawing. Recording career The Dirtbombs Blackwell debuted live with The Dirtbombs on December 18, 1999, when he was only 17 years old. The Dirtbombs are an American garage rock band based in Detroit, Detroit, Michigan, notable for blending diverse influences such as punk rock and Soul music, soul, while featuring a dual bass guitar, dual drum and guitar lineup. Raphael Saadiq (; born Charles Ray Wiggins; May 14, 1966) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He rose to fame as a member of the multiplatinum group Tony! Dhani Harrison (; born 1 August 1978) is an English musician, composer and singer-songwriter. He is the only child of George and Olivia Harrison. Dhani debuted as a professional musician assisting in recording his father's final album, '' Brainwashed'', and completing it with the assistance of Jeff Lynne after his father's death in November 2001. Black Lips is an American garage rock band from Atlanta, Georgia formed in 1999. History The band formed in Dunwoody, Georgia after guitarist Cole Alexander and bassist Jared Swilley left the Renegades, and guitarist Ben Eberbaugh left the Reruns. Alexander and Swilley were known for their crude antics both during shows and at school. They were kicked out of school during their senior year after the Columbine High School massacre, Columbine Massacre in 1999 because they were regarded as a "subculture danger." The Go
The Go is an American rock band from Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 1996, the group released seven studio albums before their indefinite hiatus in 2013. History The Go was established in Detroit in 1996 by Bobby Harlow, John Krautner, and Marc Fellis. Mentored by Los Angeles producer Kim Fowley, the band signed a record deal with Sub Pop in 1998. Cheap Time is a Nashville-based garage rock band, fronted by Jeffrey Novak. The band, which formed in 2006, has toured with Jay Reatard, Yo La Tengo, Guitar Wolf, and Mudhoney. Turbo Fruits
Turbo Fruits was a garage rock band, formed in 2006 by Jonas Stein in Nashville, Tennessee. The band released 4 studio albums and a string of singles, with Stein being the only constant member before splitting up in 2016. Biography The band was formed by Be Your Own Pet guitarist/vocalist Jonas Stein. Turbo Fruits formed while Stein was still in Be Your Own Pet. The earliest version of Turbo Fruits also included Be Your Own Pet drummer John Eatherly who performed on the self-titled debut, which was released in the U.S. via Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace! label and then a few months later in the United Kingdom by ARK Recordings.
