Belmont City College
Belmont City College is a comprehensive independent public co-educational high school, located in Belmont, east of Perth, Western Australia. Opening in 1957, the school's catchment area covers most of the City of Belmont and the eastern part of the Town of Victoria Park. As of Semester 1, 2020 the college had an enrolment of 929 students between Year 7 and Year 12. In Semester 1, 2011, 69 students enrolled were Indigenous Australians. From 1957 until 2000, the college was known as ''Belmont Senior High School''. Catchment area Belmont's catchment area has been specified by the WA Department of Education to include the suburbs of Ascot, Cloverdale, Kewdale, Redcliffe and Rivervale. Students in Carlisle and Lathlain have the choice between Belmont City College and Kent Street Senior High School. Kewdale, Western Australia
Kewdale is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia within the City of Belmont. Kew Street was one of the first roads in this district, hence the naming of the suburb. Geography Kewdale is bounded by Cloverdale and Perth Airport to the north, Belmont to the east and Welshpool and Carlisle to the south. The suburb is a mixture of residential to the west with commercial and industrial areas to the east. Governor Stirling Senior High School (abbreviated as GSSHS) is a public co-educational partially selective high day school, located in Woodbridge, a north-eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The school provides both a vocational and tertiary entrance education for students from Year 7 to Year 12. Opened in 1959, the school replaced the former Midland Junction High School (MJHS) founded in 1901, at a new site in West Midland. Cannington Community College is a public co-educational primary and high day school, located on Wharf Street in Cannington, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Overview The school was initially established in 2001 and caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 10. The school's creation was a result of government restructuring education facilities in the south east metropolitan corridor. Two new middle schools, Cannington Community College and Yule Brook College, were opened in 2000 and 2001 respectively. A new senior campus, Sevenoaks Senior College for Year 11 and 12 was also opened on the old Cannington Senior High School site. Kent Street Senior High School is a public co-educational specialist high day and boarding school in the Town of Victoria Park, located on Kent Street in East Victoria Park, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Over 50 percent of students attending Kent Street live in neighbouring or other school districts. Lathlain, Western Australia
Lathlain is an inner south eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Its local government area is the Town of Victoria Park. History Lathlain's development commenced in the 1890s when Peet and Co subdivided and sold lots in the "Victoria Park Station Estate" east of the railway station, with quarter-acre blocks on sale for £25–30. A brochure advertising the state claimed the lots were "So near Perth, near the Station and so near the Trams" (although the tram service did not eventuate). Peet and Co's advertising for the Victoria Park Station Estate was elaborate and multifaceted. Much of the promotion centred on the "Oldest Settler", a tree in the shape of a standing figure, located on one of the lots.
