Bellaterra
Bellaterra is a quarter of Cerdanyola del Vallès, in the metropolitan area of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). It is famous for being the location of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). The urbanisation of the neighbourhood started in 1929 when a pharmacist, Bartomeu, leased land from his father-in-law and built the Bellaterra railway station on the Barcelona–Vallès Line (then operated by the Ferrocarrils de Catalunya or FCC; now by the FGC). In the central area of Bellaterra is the ''Park of El Pedregar de Bellaterra'', a garden-museum of some . Within the park is a restaurant, large gardens, water sources and waterfalls with sculptures by artists as Subirachs, Crespo Rivera, Vicente Larrea, Vasallo, Charles Collet or Perceval, as well as Arcadians of Carrara's marble and amphitheatre / audience outdoors for 150 persons. Barcelona–Vallès Line
The Barcelona–Vallès Line ( ca, Línia Barcelona-Vallès) is an unconnected standard gauge rapid transit and commuter railway line linking Barcelona with Sabadell and Terrassa via the Collserola mountain range, in Catalonia, Spain. Its name refers to the Catalan historical region of Vallès, whereby most part of the line runs. Plaça de Catalunya station serves as the Barcelona terminus of the line, where almost all its trains either start or terminate. Cerdanyola Del Vallès
Cerdanyola del Vallès () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Vallès Occidental in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the north side of the Collserola ridge. The town is served by the A-7 and C-58 motorways, the N-150 road and the Renfe railway commuter lines R4, R7 and railway regional line Ca4. It is well known as the site of the main campus of the ''Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona'' (at Bellaterra) and hosts the ALBA (synchrotron) located in the Barcelona Synchrotron Park.
