Bellaire (LIRR Station)
Bellaire was a station stop along the Hempstead Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. The station was located between 211th Street and 212th Street between 99th Avenue and Jamaica Avenue in Bellaire, Queens. The station was first opened in 1837 as Brushville, which opened as a replacement of a station further to the east. The station closed in 1871, and was reopened in 1897 as Brushville Road. This station was replaced by Interstate Park in 1900, and was renamed Bellaire in 1907. The station was rebuilt on an elevated structure in 1924 as part of a grade crossing elimination project, and was closed in 1972 due to low ridership. Queens Village is a mostly residential middle class neighborhood in the eastern part of the New York City borough of Queens. It is bound by Hollis to the west, Cambria Heights to the south, Bellerose to the east, and Oakland Gardens to the north. Mall 211 is a series of nine traffic medians on 211th Street, between 99th Avenue and Hollis Avenue in the Bellaire section of the Queens Village neighborhood of Queens. William John Ronan (November 8, 1912 – October 15, 2014) was an American public servant and academic who founded and served as the first chairman of New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority, from 1968 to 1974. Atlantic Terminal (formerly Flatbush Avenue) is the westernmost stop on the Long Island Rail Road's (LIRR) Atlantic Branch, located at Flatbush Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn, New York City. Landia Station
Landia station is a closed rail station on the Long Island Rail Road's Port Jefferson Branch in the Locust Grove section of Syosset, New York. History The station was opened on December 15, 1952 for the Fairchild Camera & Instrument Corporation, which had recently moved from Queens to Syosset. Its purpose was to provide transportation to work for Fairchild employees who still lived in Queens and did not own automobiles. Service to the station was halted on June 26, 1972 as the station did not have high-level platforms to accommodate the new M1 cars which did not have stairs to grade-level. South Farmingdale Station
South Farmingdale was a station along the Central Branch of the Long Island Rail Road in South Farmingdale, New York, United States. History This station first appeared on timetables of the Central Railroad Extension Company of Long Island (a CRRLI subsidiary) in May 1873, though service may have been delayed a month or two. In 1873, it was named "Farmingdale Station" despite the fact that the LIRR had its own Farmingdale Station. The station depot itself was not built until either August or September 1873, and was located on the east side of Main Street just south of W. C. Dupignac's Hotel. A freight house was erected by the railroad in either April or May 1874 but the station was closed on June 1, 1876. Belmont Park is a seasonal-use Long Island Rail Road station on the grounds of the Belmont Park racetrack in the New York City borough of Queens. The station is a terminus of a spur line that lies south of and between the Queens Village and Bellerose stations on the Main Line/Hempstead Branch. Consistent with the names of other lines and branches of the LIRR, the spur line is called the Belmont Park Branch.
