Believe (Orianthi Album)
''Believe'' is the second studio album by Australian guitarist Orianthi and her debut album recorded for a major label. It was released on 26 October 2009 by Geffen Records. The album's release was pushed back by Geffen to coincide with the compilation album '' This Is It'' by Michael Jackson, as a result of the publicity generated from her appearance in the concert film of the same name. The album peaked at number 77 at the ''Billboard'' 200. The song "Believe" from which the album is titled, is a cover of the Niels Brinck's song " Believe Again", best known as the Danish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. Virtuoso guitarist Steve Vai appears on and co-wrote the song "Highly Strung". "Suffocated", a cover of a song by American band Sound the Alarm, appears on the soundtrack of music video game '' Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock''. The album was re-released on 8 June 2010. Orianthi Penny Panagaris (born 22 January 1985), known mononymously as Orianthi, is an Australian guitarist, singer and songwriter who rehearsed in 2009 with Michael Jackson in preparation for his '' This Is It'' concert series, and performed with Alice Cooper's touring band. Her 2009 debut single "According to You" peaked at No. 3 in Japan, No. 8 in Australia and No. 17 in the US; her second album, '' Believe'', received a worldwide release in late 2009. Andreas Carlsson (; born 3 April 1973) is a Swedish music producer and pop songwriter. Biography Carlsson was part of the Cheiron Studios team until the studio was closed down in 2000. Sound the Alarm is an American pop rock band from Bangor, Pennsylvania. Steven Siro Vai (; born June 6, 1960) is an American guitarist, composer, songwriter, and producer. A three-time Grammy Award winner and fifteen-time nominee, Vai started his music career in 1978 at the age of eighteen as a transcriptionist for Frank Zappa, and played in Zappa's band from 1980 to 1983. The Eurovision Song Contest 2009 was the 54th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Denmark participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Believe Again" written by Lars Halvor Jensen, Deekay, Martin Michael Larsson and Ronan Keating.
