Belgium was represented by Jill Van Vooren and Lauren De Ruyck in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Get Up!". Jill & Lauren will compete for Belgium at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010, to be held on 20 November in Minsk, Belarus. Before Eurovision Junior Eurosong Belgium selected their Junior Eurovision Song Contest entry for 2010 through ''Junior Eurosong'', a national selection consisting of 8 songs. Before the final, four semi-finals were held with two songs each. A five-member jury panel consisting of Walter Grootaers, Jelle Van Dael, Stan Van Samang, Ralf Mackenbach (Dutch representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009) alongside one guest juror in each semi-final selected the winning entry of each semi-final to qualify for the final. Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 was the seventh edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest and took place in Kyiv, Ukraine. It was scheduled for 21 November 2009. 13 countries were confirmed by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to compete in the contest. The contest was won by Ralf Mackenbach for the Netherlands with the song "Click Clack". At the age of 14, he was the oldest person to win the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in its seven-year history. He was joined by Italy's Vincenzo Cantiello who won the 2014 contest also at the age of 14. Luara Hayrapetyan achieved Armenia another second place. Ekaterina Ryabova also took second place for Russia. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was the fourth edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest for young singers aged 8 to 15. On 2 December 2006, the contest was broadcast live from Bucharest, Romania making it the second time the contest had been held in a capital city. It was organised by the Romanian national broadcaster, Romanian Television (TVR), in co-operation with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The show was broadcast live in the competing countries, as well as Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Australian television channel Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) that acquired the rights for broadcasting the show, which was broadcast on 1 January 2007. Ralf J. J. Mackenbach (born 4 October 1995) is a Dutch plasma physicist, artist and former child singer, best known for winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Click Clack". He is the first and so far only Dutch winner of the contest. Biography Early life Mackenbach was born in Best, North Brabant and has an older brother Rick (born 1993). As a child, he starred in the musicals ''Tarzan'' and ''Beauty and the Beast''. He attended Amsterdam's dancing academy Lucia Marthas, and studied acting at Centrum voor de Kunsten Eindhoven (CKE) in Eindhoven. Stan Van Samang (born 19 March 1979 in Wijgmaal, Leuven) is a Belgian actor and singer. Career He played the role of 'Kevin' in one of Flanders' famous soaps called ''Wittekerke''. Van Samang appeared in other Flemish TV series such as ''Flikken'' and ''Rupel'', and in the Belgian movies ''Windkracht 10: Koksijde Rescue'' (Hans Herbots, 2007) and ''Vermist'' (Jan Verheyen, 2007). In 2006, he was discovered as a music talent during the national TV shows ''Steracteur Sterartiest'' ( VRT), a show in which actors sang for charity. The winner of the shows earned money for that charity. Stan Van Samang won and got a record deal a few weeks later. On 7 March 2007 he made a record deal with EMI Group. Lasgo
Lasgo were a Belgian electronic music group. The group formed in 1999 was composed of Evi Goffin, David Vervoort, Peter Luts, and Dave McCullen). Peter Luts confirmed on Belgian radio in 2008 that Evi Goffin was not returning to the band, after choosing to become a full-time mother. Luts announced around the same time that he was looking for a new vocalist for the band. Together with Belgian TV station JIMtv, he organized a televised search (in similar fashion to talent shows like '' Idols'') for a new vocalist, that came to pick Van Dael as the singer. Throughout their career, Lasgo have sold more than five million units of their albums ''Some Things'' and '' Far Away'', and the singles from those albums.
