Belgian Brazilian ( pt, bélgico-brasileiro, belga brasileiro) is a Brazilian person of full, partial, or predominantly Belgian ancestry, or a Belgian-born person immigrant in Brazil. History Belgians have been in Brazil since colonial times. Some of the early settlers and bandeirantes from São Paulo were Belgians or had Belgian forefathers (most of them were flemings), like Cornélio de Arzam, Pedro Taques (his father was a merchant from Brabant), Fernão Dias Pais Leme (the Leme family established itself in Portugal in the late 15th century through a merchant named Martim Leme; his descendants came to São Vicente in the beginning of the colonization of Brazil), and probably Jacques Félix (it is likely that his father was also named Jacques Félix, nicknamed "the Flemish", who was from Flanders and established himself in Santos in the early 16th century). Irish Brazilian
Irish Brazilians ( pt, Irlando-brasileiros or ; ga, Gael-Bhrasaíligh) are Brazilian citizens of Irish ancestry, or Irish-born people residing in Brazil. Many Irish immigrants to Brazil changed their surnames to resemble Portuguese names more closely, often losing the common prefix 'O'. Bandeirantes
The ''Bandeirantes'' (), literally "flag-carriers", were slavers, explorers, adventurers, and fortune hunters in early Colonial Brazil. They are largely responsible for Brazil's great expansion westward, far beyond the Tordesillas Line of 1494, by which Pope Alexander VI divided the new continent into a western, Crown of Castile, Castilian section, and an eastern, Portugal, Portuguese section. The ''bandeirantes'' were also known as Paulistas and Mamelucos. They mostly hailed from the São Paulo (state), São Paulo region, called the Captaincy of São Vicente until 1709 and then as the Captaincy of São Paulo. Luxembourgers
Luxembourgers ( ; lb, Lëtzebuerger ) are a Germanic ethnic group and nation native to their nation state of Luxembourg, where they make up around half of the population. They share the culture of Luxembourg and speak Luxembourgish. Luxembourgers were, much like Austrians, historically considered to be a regional subgroup of ethnic Germans and viewed themselves as such until the collapse of the German Confederation. Czech Brazilian
Czech Brazilians refer to Brazilians of Czech descent who were born in or who trace their ancestry to the territory of the historic Czech lands or succession states, now known as the Czech Republic, and are residents and/or citizens of Brazil.
