Belarus In The Eurovision Song Contest 2019
Belarus participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "Like It" written by Yulia Kireeva, Viktor Drobysh and Zinaida Kupriyanovich. The song was performed by Zena, which is the artistic name of singer Zinaida Kupriyanovich. The Belarusian entry for the 2019 contest in Tel Aviv, Israel was selected through the national final , which was organised by the Belarusian broadcaster National State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (BTRC). The national final consisted of ten competing acts participating in a televised production where a jury panel selected "Like It" performed by Zena as the winner. Belarus was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 14 May 2019. Zinaida Alexandrovna Kupriyanovich, Łacinka: ''Zinaída Alaksándraŭna Kupryjanóvič''; russian: Зинаи́да Алекса́ндровна Куприяно́вич, Zinaída Aleksándrovna Kupriyanóvich. (born 17 September 2002), sometimes known professionally as Zina Kupriyanovich or Zena (stylized as ZENA), and now known as Zina Bless, is a Belarusian singer, actress, and television presenter. Kupriyanovich represented Belarus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "Like It", placing 24th in the final. Marleen Sahupala (née van den Broek; born 1 July 1971), known professionally as Marlayne or Marlayne Sahupala, is a Dutch singer, television presenter and newsreader. Edsilia Francisca Rombley (born 13 February 1978) is a Dutch singer and television presenter. She began her career in 1995, as a member of the Dutch girl group Dignity. Rombley began her solo career in 1996, after winning the Dutch talent show ''Soundmixshow'', later winning the ''European Soundmix Show'' as well the following year. NAPOLI (russian: Наполи), is a Belarusian music project. NAPOLI was formed in 2012 in Minsk by Ilya Kravchuk, Ilona Muntyan and Olga Shimanskaya. Ilya Kravchuk died on 25 March 2014. VAL is a Belarusian band comprising Valeria Gribusova and Vladislav Pashkevich. History In 2016, together with keyboardist and sound producer, Pashkevich, Gribusova founded a solo project called "VAL Music Project" which released the singles "Кто ты есть" (Who Are You) and "Ветер во сне" (Wind in a Dream) the same year.
