Giorgio Behr (born 18 September 1948, Schaffhausen, Switzerland) is a Swiss businessman, lawyer, accountant and university professor. Behr is the founder and former chairman of the Behr Bircher Cellpack BBC as well as president of the Swiss handball club Kadetten Schaffhausen. Hans Hermann Behr (August 18, 1818, Köthen – March 6, 1904, San Francisco) was a German-American doctor, entomologist and botanist. At the time of his death, the ''San Francisco Chronicle'' reported that he was "reckoned among mental giants" and that he was "an authority of world-wide prominence" in many branches of science. Early life Behr came from a prominent family with connections to the administration of the principality of Köthen (also Koethen, Goethen or Colthen). He attended schools in Köthen and Zerbst where he studied Greek, Latin, Hebrew and mathematics. As a boy he developed an interest in natural history, including collecting birds' eggs. John Behr
John Behr (born 16 October 1966) is a British Eastern Orthodox priest and theologian. Since 2020, he has served as the Regius Professor of Humanity at the University of Aberdeen. He is the former dean of St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary, where he was the director of the Master of Theology Program and the Father Georges Florovsky Distinguished Professor of Patristics. He was ordained to the diaconate on 8 September 2001 and the priesthood on 14 September 2001. He is the editor of the Patristic Series released by St. Vladimir's Press. Abraham Maurits "Bram" Behr (18 January 1951 – 8 December 1982) was a Surinamese journalist. He published the pamphlet ''De Rode Surinamer'' and edited the weekly newspaper ''Mokro''. He also founded (24 June 1973) and led the Hoxhaist Communist Party of Suriname (KPS), and was in opposition to the military dictatorship of Dési Bouterse. Behr was assassinated along with 14 other prominent Bouterse opponents on 8 December 1982, an incident known as the December murders. Carl Behr
Carl Julius Peter Behr (28 October 1874 – 16 November 1943) was a German ophthalmologist born in Hamburg. In 1909 he described an hereditary syndrome of optic and neurologic disorders now known as Behr's syndrome. After attending several universities in Germany, he obtained his medical doctorate from the University of Kiel in 1900. Later he was an intern and assistant-physician at Eppendorf and St. Georg's hospitals in Hamburg. In 1910 he was habilitated for ophthalmology at Kiel, where in 1916 he became an associate professor. In 1923 he was appointed to the chair of ophthalmology at University of Hamburg. Behr specialized in the study of neuro-ophthalmological disorders, making contributions in his research involving the pathological processes in papilloedema and tabetic optic atrophy.
