Beginning Of The End (film)
''Beginning of the End'' is a 1957 American science fiction film produced and directed by Bert I. Gordon. It stars Peter Graves, Peggie Castle, and Morris Ankrum. An agricultural scientist, played by Graves, successfully grows gigantic vegetables using radiation. Unfortunately, the vegetables are eaten by locusts (the swarming phase of short-horned grasshoppers), which quickly grow to a gigantic size and attack the nearby city of Chicago. ''Beginning of the End'' is generally known for its "atrocious" special effects, "and yet," writes reviewer Bill Warren, "there is something almost compellingly watchable about this goofy little movie".Warren, ''Keep Watching the Skies! American Science Fiction Movies of the Fifties,'' 1997, p. 325-326. Plot The film opens with newspaper photojournalist Audrey Aimes accidentally stumbling upon a small town ( Ludlow, Illinois) which has been inexplicably destroyed. All 150 residents are missing, and the evidence indicates they are dead. Incredibly ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Souls Of Black
''Souls of Black'' is the fourth studio album by American thrash metal band Testament. It was released on October 9, 1990. Production and musical style While ''Souls of Black'' saw Testament staying true to their thrash sound, it saw several changes in style to rather diverse styles of metal, continuing the melding of technical and progressive influences that began on its predecessor ''Practice What You Preach'', and preceding the traditional heavy metal sound heard in its subsequent album, '' The Ritual''. The songs on the album are musically re-worked and lyrically re-written songs that had been demoed in the late 1980s, but never officially released. ''Souls of Black'' sees Testament continuing in a vein similar to that of ''Practice What You Preach'', with its lyrics dealing with society, politics, religion, suicide, megalomania and warfare. Like ''Practice What You Preach'', this album was recorded at Fantasy Studios, but also marked the band's first album to be produced by ... The majority of ''Hellbilly Deluxe'' was recorded in California, and was produced by both Zombie and Scott Humphrey; Zombie is credited as the sole writer on all of the songs. ''Hellbilly Deluxe'' was released to a generally positive critical reception, with the album's production being praised. Year Zero (album)
''Year Zero'' is the fifth studio album by American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, released by Interscope Records on April 17, 2007. Conceived while touring in support of the band's previous album, ''With Teeth'' (2005), the album was recorded in late 2006. It was produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, and was the band's first studio album since 1994's ''The Downward Spiral'' that was not co-produced by long-time collaborator Alan Moulder. It was the band's last album for Interscope, following Reznor's departure the same year due to a dispute over overseas pricing. In contrast to the introspective style of songwriting featured on the band's previous work, the record is a concept album that criticizes contemporary policies of the United States government by presenting a dystopian vision of the year 2022. It was part of a larger Year Zero project, which included a remix album, an alternate reality game of the same name, as well as a conceived television or film adapta ... Beginning Of The End (Status Quo Song)
"Beginning of the End" is a single released by the British rock band Status Quo in 2007. It was included on the album ''In Search of the Fourth Chord''. It reached number 48 on the UK Singles Chart in September 2007. "Beginning of the End" is the sole single from ''In Search of the Fourth Chord''. Much heavier than most of its recent predecessors (thereby signalling a move back towards a harder rock sound), it has gained distinction as being one of the few "newer" songs to survive in the live set and has continued to stay there up until the current Last Night of the Electrics tour. Live versions can be found on "Pictures - Live at Montreux 2009" and the bonus "Official Live Bootleg" that came with '' Quid Pro Quo'' (this same version was used on the soundtrack of the "Bula Quo" movie and is therefore also on disc 2 of the album). "Beginning of the End" was also notable for being the first self-penned lead single of a Quo studio album since 1999's "The Way It Goes". The track also ...
