Beerschot(Antwerp)
Koninklijke Beerschot Voetbalclub Antwerpen, or simply Beerschot, is a Belgian professional Association football, football club located in Antwerp, that competes in the second-tier Belgian First Division B, First Division B after relegating from the top tier in the 2021–22 Belgian First Division A, 2021–22 season. In 2013, KFCO Wilrijk decided to integrate the identity of Beerschot AC when they were relegated in the 2012–13 Belgian Pro League, 2012–13 season, not only through their league position but also due to losing their professional licence through financial issues, being officially declared bankrupt on 21 May 2013 and folding shortly afterwards. The club colours are purple and white, they play their games on the club's home ground the Olympisch Stadion (Antwerp), Olympic Stadium often referred to as 't Kiel. Olympisch Stadion (Antwerp)
The Olympisch Stadion () or Kielstadion ) was built as the main stadium for the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp. For those games, it hosted the athletics, equestrian, field hockey, football, gymnastics, modern pentathlon, rugby union, tug of war, weightlifting and korfball (demonstration) events. Following the Olympics it was converted to a football stadium. Its current tenant is K Beerschot VA, a Belgian football club. There are no remnants of the Olympic athletics track. It is possible that Archibald Leitch was involved in the design of the stadium having made several visits prior to the Games. Belgian Second Division
The Belgian Second Division (known as the Proximus League for sponsorship reasons) was the second-highest division in the Belgian football league system, one level below the Belgian Pro League. It was founded by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 1909 and folded in 2016, when it was replaced by the Belgian First Division B. History The second division was created in 1909 and was known as the Promotion nl, bevordering at the time. From 1923 on there were two leagues in that division (called Promotion A and Promotion B). 2017–18 Belgian Cup
The 2017–18 Belgian Cup, called the Croky Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 63rd season of Belgium's annual football cup competition. The competition began on 28 July 2017 and ended with the final on 17 March 2018. Zulte Waregem were the defending champions, but they were eliminated by Club Brugge in the Seventh Round. Standard Liège won the cup, beating Genk after extra time in the final. As the winner, Standard Liège was normally qualified for the 2018–19 UEFA Europa League Group Stage. 2017–18 Belgian First Division B
The 2017–18 season of the Belgian First Division B began in August 2017 and ended in April 2018. It was the second season of the First Division B following a change in league format from the old Belgian Second Division. The fixtures were announced near the end of June 2017. Cercle Brugge won the title and promotion on 10 March 2018. Although Tubize lost the relegation play-offs and therefore would have been relegated, they were saved as Lierse went bankrupt. The Belgian Division 3, commonly referred to as simply Derde Afdeling (in Dutch) or Division 3 (in French) is the fifth-highest division in the Belgian football league system, one level below the Belgian Division 2. Belgian Third Division B
The Belgian Third Division B was one of the two leagues at the third level of the Belgian football league system, the other one being the Belgian Third Division A. This division existed from the 1952–53 until 2015–16 seasons and was played every year with 18 clubs from 2009.
