Beddy Rays
Beddy Rays are an Australian rock band from the outer Brisbane suburb of Redland Bay, Queensland. With music described as "rollicking coastal punk rock", they are best known for their 2020 single "Sobercoaster". The band have supported Tones and I on tour, as well as Dune Rats and Hockey Dad. Origins The four band members—Jacko, Lewy, Brad, and Benny—met in 2002 as young children at primary school. Their band name is derived from a spoonerism of "Reddy Bay", which is a common abbreviation for Redland Bay. In primary school the entire band's favourite band was Green Day. In high school they went through a phase of loving hardcore music and would attend shows at the youth centre shows. The band was started after the members left high school. Redland Bay is a coastal semi-rural locality in the City of Redland, Queensland, Australia. In the , Redland Bay had a population of 14,958 people. Since the first European settlers arrived in the mid-19th century, Redland Bay has remained a farming and fishing-based area until the mid-20th century when some of the farms were subdivided and improved transport infrastructure made it possible for residents to commute the 35 kilometers into Brisbane. Geography Redland Bay is at the southern end of Redland City, south-east of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. The locality is named for the bay to its east (), which forms part of larger Moreton Bay. The National Indigenous Music Awards 2021 were the forthcoming 18th annual National Indigenous Music Awards. They were scheduled to occur on 8 August 2021 at the Darwin Amphitheatre however on 28 July 2021, were postponed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia.
