Beckingham, Lincolnshire
Beckingham is a village and civil parish in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish (including Stapleford) at the 2011 census was 452. It is situated approximately east from Newark-on-Trent on the A17 road, and on the east bank of the River Witham. Beckingham is largely a residential community with a village hall. The village public house is the Grade II listed Pack Horse Inn. Nearby to the west is Newark Golf Course. The Grade I listed parish church is dedicated to All Saints. Beckingham is a village and civil parish in the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, England, about 3 miles west of Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 1,168, reducing to 1,098 at the 2011 Census. History The parish church of All Saints is mostly of the 13th century, though the exterior is apparently 15th century. The west tower has buttresses, battlements, gargoyles and pinnacles. There is a north chancel chapel and sedilia. It is a Grade II* listed building. A tower windmill was built some time prior to 1840 to the north of the village (). The tower was straight-sided. In 1841 the mill had 2 pairs of millstones driven by 4 common sails, described as ''"self-regulating cloth and rollers to the sails"''. Rowneybury House
Rowneybury House is a house in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, England. The property on which Rowneybury stands was part of Pishiobury before being divided in the 1880s. It was owned by Hertfordshire County Council and used as a home for children with learning disabilities. The original property had two upper floors, and a cellar under the majority of the main building. After laying empty for several years, it was purchased from the Council and renovated. In 1999, the property was purchased by the footballer David Beckham and his wife Victoria for £2.5 million. The property became dubbed "Beckingham Palace" by the press as a portmanteau of their surname and Buckingham Palace.
