Charles Beckingham
Charles Beckingham (25 July 1699 – 19 February 1730-31) was an English poet and dramatist. Life Beckingham was born, according to the register of Merchant Taylors' School, on 25 July 1699 (Robinson's ''Register'', ii. 32). His father was a linen draper in Fleet Street. Beckingham was educated at Merchant Taylors' School under Dr. Smith, and is said to have displayed "great proficiency in his studies", and given "the strongest testimonials of extraordinary abilities". On 18 February 1718 '' Scipio Africanus'', a historical tragedy in the regulation five acts, was produced at the theatre in Lincoln's Inn Fields. This was followed at the same house on 7 November of the next year by a second work of a similar description, entitled ''Henry IV of France''. The youth of the author, and the presence of a large number of his fellow-students who had been permitted to visit the theatre, gave some éclat to the production of the earlier work. Early life

Beckingham was born in Houghton, Huntingdonshire. His father was artist Arthur Beckingham. Beckingham read English at Queens' College, Cambridge, where he was a friend of Cyril Bibby. He worked for the Department of Printed Books in the British Museum from 1936 until 1946, interrupted by military and naval Intelligence service during World War II from 1942 until 1946. During that time he added to the ''Admiralty Handbook of Western Arabia''.

Elias Beckingham
Ellis Beckingham, named Ellis of Beckingham in some sources, (died 1307?) was a parish priest for Warmington, Northamptonshire,Raban, S., "Mortmain in Medieval England", ''Past & Present'' (1974), p. 11. which at the time was under the authority of Peterborough Abbey, and with which Beckingham had a close relationship throughout his life. He both assisted the Abbey legally and increased his wealth through their grants. He was also a royal judge, and is possibly best known for being the only English judge to keep his position when most of his colleagues were dismissed. As a result, he has been called "with one exception the only honest judge" of the time. The dates of his birth and death are unknown, but he is thought to have died in around 1307. Peter Beckingham
Peter Beckingham (born 13 March 1949) is a British retired diplomat, who was Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands 2013–2016. Career Beckingham was born in Essex in 1949, and was educated at Chigwell School and Selwyn College, Cambridge. In 1966, he received a scholarship from the Nuffield Foundation to teach in Zambia.''World Who's Who'', Europa Publications, 2013. In 1970, he joined Argo Records, a division of Decca Records. Steven Beckingham is a British actor and singer who was born on 6 November 1978 in Frimley Green, Surrey, England, United Kingdom. Anne Jennifer Dudley (née Beckingham; born 7 May 1956) is an English composer, keyboardist, conductor and pop musician. She was the first BBC Concert Orchestra's Composer in Association in 2001. She has worked in the classical and pop genres, as a film composer, and was one of the core members of the Synth-pop band Art of Noise. In 1998, Dudley won an Oscar for Best Original Musical or Comedy Score for ''The Full Monty''. Bobby Valentino (born Robert James Beckingham, 22 June 1954) is a British musician, violinist and singer. Career Born in Chatham, Kent, he adopted the stage name Bobby Valentino in 1975. Valentino's first success was as a founding member of The Fabulous Poodles, but he is most often recognised as the violinist and co-writer of the #1 hit single " Young at Heart", by The Bluebells. After leaving the Fabulous Poodles in the early 1980s, Valentino was a member of the Electric Bluebirds before joining the Hank Wangford Band at the beginning of 1984.
