The Cloquet River is a , accessed May 7, 2012 river in Minnesota, United States. It is the main tributary of the Saint Louis River. Name Cloquet ( ) River is known in the Ojibwe language as the ''Gaa-biitootigweyaag-ziibi'' ("River that parallels the Saint Louis River"). On the map of Stephen H. Long's expedition in 1823, it shows that stream as "Rapid River", and it is unnamed on the map by David Thompson in 1826 for the proposed routes of the international boundary. Fredenberg Township is a township in Saint Louis County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,337 at the 2010 census. Lavaque Road (County Road 48) serves as a main route in the township. Other routes include Fish Lake Road, Beaver River Road, and Taft Road. Local business establishments include the Eagle's Nest Resort, the Blue Max, and Fredenberg Minno-ette Bait and Tackle.
