''Be Seeing You, Father'' (Italian: ''Arrivederci, papà !'') is a 1948 Italian historical film, period comedy film directed by Camillo Mastrocinque and starring Gino Bechi, Mariella Lotti and Silvana Pampanini. The film's sets were designed by the art director Ottavio Scotti. The film was a breakthrough for Pampanini, who outshone the more established female star Lotti and rapidly gained appeal at the box office.Gundle p.268 Synopsis The film takes place in the nineteenth century. Two as yet unborn children are allowed to select their future parents. They choose the daughter of a general and a young opera singer, but attempts to bring them together are far from simple. Anna Maestri
Anna Maestri (7 January 1924 – 4 March 1988) was an Italian stage, film and television actress. Life and career Maestri was born in Mantua, the daughter of two stage actors. She formed at the Silvio d’Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome, and made her professional debut on stage in 1943 alongside Vittorio Gassman. After the war she worked several times with Luchino Visconti, Luigi Squarzina and with Giorgio Strehler at the Piccolo Teatro (Milan), Piccolo Teatro in Milan. She was also active in musical comedies and revues, notably starring in ''Il terrore corre sul filo'' alongside Nino Taranto. Galeazzo Benti (6 August 1923 – 21 April 1993) was an Italian actor. He appeared in more than 70 films between 1942 and 1991. Life and career Born Galeazzo Bentivoglio in Florence, Italy, a descendant of the Bentivoglio family, which ruled Bologna from 1401 until 1506 and from 1511 until 1512, he started his career as a cartoonist and a set designer. After his first roles in 1942, he had his breakout in 1943, in Sergio Tofano's ''Gian Burrasca'', in which he played a frivolous and falsely modest snob, a role he specialized during his career. After successfully alternating between cinema and revue, in the late 1950s he moved to Venezuela, where he worked in a television channel dedicated to Italian immigrants. He came back to Italy in the early 1980s, and here he reprised his acting career equally splitting between films and TV-series until his death from a heart attack in 1993. Guglielmo Barnabò (11 May 1888 – 31 May 1954) was an Italian stage and film actor. He appeared in more than 90 films between 1926 and 1954. Life and career Born in Ancona, Barnabò made his stage debut in 1921 at the Greek Theatre of Syracuse, with the Annibale Ninchi's company.
