Baviácora is a small town and the municipal seat of the surrounding municipality of the Mexican state of Sonora. The geographical coordinates are . Location and Boundaries The municipality is located almost in the center of the state at a distance of 125 kilometers from the state capital, Hermosillo, in the valley of the Río Sonora. In the north is the municipality of Aconchi, in the south the municipalities of Ures and Villa Pesqueira, in the east the municipality of Cumpas and in the west the municipalities of Ures and Rayón. Aconchi
Aconchi is a small city in Aconchi Municipality that surrounds it, located in the center of the Mexican state of Sonora. The population of the municipality (urban and rural) was 2,452 in 2005 in an area of 358.74 square kilometers. It became a municipality in 1932 but was founded in 1639 the Jesuit missionary Bartolomé Castaño. The municipal seat lies at an elevation of 609 meters above sea level. The land is mainly mountainous making agriculture difficult; therefore the economy is dependent on cattle raising. The Sonora River crosses the municipality from north to south, but its water flow is irregular. Aconchi lies on the main highway linking state capital Hermosillo with Cananea. Ures is a small city and a municipality in the Mexican state of Sonora. Area It has an area of 2,618.56 square kilometers. This is 1.41% of the total area of the state, and 0.13 percent of the national area of Mexico. Besides the seat, the most important localities are Guadalupe de Ures, San Pedro, Pueblo de Alamos and El Sauz. Population In the year 2000, the total population was 9,553 residents.
