Batu Anam Railway Station
The Batu Anam railway station was a Malaysian railway halt located at Batu Anam, Segamat District, Johor. The station is between Gemas and Segamat stations. KTM Intercity train services were provided at this halt, however the station is currently not in active service. KTM Intercity
KTM Intercity ( ms, KTM Antarabandar) are diesel-hauled intercity train services in Peninsular Malaysia, operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB). Services operate along the East Coast Line between Tumpat and Gemas and on towards JB Sentral on the West Coast Line. The former Intercity services along the West Coast Line between Padang Besar in the north (and subsequent services to Thailand) and Gemas have been converted to the KTM ETS service. KTM Intercity has long enjoyed moderate success, but increasingly faces competition with road and air travel, as expressways (motorways) increase in number and budget airlines offer shorter travelling time. In 2006, KTM Intercity earned a profit of RM 70.94 million as group revenue, hovering around the RM 65 million mark since 2001. Batu Anam
Batu Anam is a town in the northern part of Segamat District, Johor, Malaysia. It is about halfway between downtown Segamat and Gemas, Negeri Sembilan. Economy Batu Anam is surrounded by rubber and oil palm plantations and the more prominent plantations are Sungei Senarut Estate, Paya Lang Estate and Gomali Estate with a number of smaller estates and smallholdings. There is an old rubber factory known as H&C Latex still in use. Paya Lang Club had a beautiful 9-hole Golf Course which is now planted with Palm Oil trees after the plantation was sold to local interests. Education Batu Anam offers both lower and higher level education center. It host Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Anam, SRJK (C) Hwa Nan and SRJK (T) Batu Anam for primary school. Segamat District
The Segamat District ( ms, Daerah Segamat) or simply Segamat is a List of districts in Malaysia, district in the Malaysian states of Malaysia, state of Johor. Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) (Jawi: كريتاڤي تانه ملايو برحد) or Malayan Railways Limited is the main rail operator in Peninsular Malaysia. The railway system dates back to the British colonial era, when it was first built to transport tin. Previously known as the Federated Malay States Railways (FMSR) and the Malayan Railway Administration (MRA), Keretapi Tanah Melayu acquired its current name in 1962. Gemas Railway Station
Gemas railway station is a Malaysian railway station located at the eastern side of and named after the town of Gemas, Tampin District, Negeri Sembilan. Built in 1922, the station is the meeting point of and the railway junction connecting the West Coast Line (Padang Besar–Singapore) with the East Coast Line (Tumpat–Gemas). As part of the Seremban–Gemas double tracking and electrification, the tracks were realigned and a new station building was built adjacent to the old station building. The old station building, platforms and a section of the railway tracks have been spared demolition and preserved. History The Gemas station was constructed sometime in 1922 as a hub for trains from Penang, Seremban, and Kuala Lumpur. Rail transport in Malaysia consists of heavy rail (including commuter rail), light rapid transit (LRT), mass rapid transit (MRT), monorails, airport rail links and a funicular railway line.
