''BattleWheels'' is a 1993 First-person (video games), first-person List of vehicular combat games, vehicular combat video game developed by Beyond Games and published by Atari Corporation in North America and Europe exclusively for the Atari Lynx. Beyond Games
Beyond Games was an American video game developer. It was founded in 1992 by Kris Johnson. The first release from the company was BattleWheels for the Atari Lynx, winner of the 1993 Consumer Electronics Show Innovations Award. Their follow-up, ''CyberVirus'' was planned for release the following year, but abandoned due to sagging sales of the platform. Assets and code were sold to Songbird Productions, who completed and published the game in 2002. Before they went under, they were working on a game titled Doomsday Rescue. In 2003, many of their employees, including Kris Johnson, would go on to form WildWorks, Smart Bomb Interactive (now known as WildWorks), where they continue to make games. ''Redline'' is a 1999 post-apocalyptic combination first-person shooter/car combat game for Windows. It was developed by Beyond Games and published by Accolade. In Europe, the game is known as ''Redline - Gang Warfare: 2066''. It is a spiritual successor to the Atari Lynx video game ''BattleWheels''. The Atari Jaguar is a home video game console developed by Atari Corporation and released in North America in November 1993. Part of the fifth generation of video game consoles, it competed with the 16-bit Sega Genesis, the Super NES and the 32-bit 3DO Interactive Multiplayer that launched the same year.
