BattlEye
BattlEye is a Proprietary software, proprietary anti-cheat software system which protects games and their players from hacking, cheating, and other forms of exploits while playing an online game. It was initially released as a third-party anti-cheat for ''Battlefield Vietnam'' in 2004 and has since been officially implemented in numerous video games including ''PUBG: Battlegrounds'', ''ARMA 3'', and ''DayZ (video game), DayZ''. BattlEye supports Valve Corporation's Proton (software), Proton compatibility layer and is usable on the Steam Deck. Anti-Cheat Processes Part of the prevention process is Ring0 kernel agent[ref] which uses a combination of DLL Whitelist and/or OB_callback routines as a way to prevent the game process from external hooks. ''PUBG: Battlegrounds'' (previously known as ''PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds'') is a battle royale game developed by PUBG Studios and published by Krafton. The game, which was inspired by the Japanese film '' Battle Royale'' (2000), is based on previous mods created by Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene for other games, and expanded into a standalone game under Greene's creative direction. It is the first game in the ''PUBG Universe'' series. The game is played from either a third-person or first-person perspective. The Steam Deck is a handheld gaming computer developed by Valve Corporation. Released on February 25, 2022, the Steam Deck can be played as a handheld or connected to a monitor in the same manner as the Nintendo Switch.
