Battersea is a historic plantation house in Prairieville, Alabama. The house was built from 1820 to 1845 by the Vaughan family from Petersburg, Virginia and served as an early stagecoach stop. Petersburg is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 33,458. The Bureau of Economic Analysis combines Petersburg (along with the city of Colonial Heights) with Dinwiddie County for statistical purposes.
