Batakari Festival
The Batakari Festival is a cultural event organised by King Ayisoba to showcase ''Batakari'', a traditional handmade Ghanaian smock from the Upper East Region of Ghana. The inaugural event was held in 2013 and the festival has since become an annual event in Ghana. Background and Program King Ayisoba developed this idea due to his love for Ghanaian Northern fashion. He said people in the past associated the locally woven clothe, ''Batakari'' with juju and occultism and the concert was his move to change people's stance and address the misconception about wearing ''Fugu'' or ''Batakari''. He believed that propagating the wearing of the fashion through programs like his will consequently create jobs for people thereby reducing the rate of unemployment and also serve as a source income for the youth in Northern Ghana. Wiyaala
Noella Wiyaala (known under the stage name Wiyaala; born 22 December 1986) is a Ghanaian Afro-pop singer-songwriter who sings in her native language Sissala and Waala dialects and English, often combining all three languages within her songs. Wiyaala means "the doer" in the Sissala dialect. She has attained public renown with her single "Make Me Dance" and her androgynous image. Atongo Zimba (born 1967) is a musician and griot from Ghana. His tours in Europe, South America and Africa include a benefit for the 2010 Haiti earthquake, at the Alliance Française in Accra. His 1994 album ''Allah Mongode'' was recorded in Switzerland. His album ''Barefoot in the Sand'' was nominated "African CD of the Year" in 2007 by Amsterdam television. Emmanuel Kofi Botwe , known by his stage name Kwaw Kese and popularly called Abodam (''craziness''), is a Ghanaian hiplife artist. Kwaw Kese is well known for his hit album ''Abodam 2007'', for which he won five awards at the 2008 edition of the Ghana Music Awards. Wanlov The Kubolor
Emmanuel Owusu-Bonsu, known by his stage name Wanlov the Kubolor (born September 8, 1980, in Ploiești, Romania) is a Ghanaian-Romanian musician and film director born to an Akan father and a Romanian mother. Kubolor is a Ga word that essentially means truant, but can be understood to be a wanderer or vagabond. He is the brother of the television show host, model, and musician Deborah Owusu-Bonsu. Xalam (in Serer, or khalam in Wolof) is a traditional stringed musical instrument from West Africa with 1-5 strings. National Theatre Of Ghana
The National Theatre was opened in 1992 to spearhead the Theatre movement in Ghana by providing a multi-functional venue for concerts, dance, drama and musical performances, screenplays, exhibitions and special events.
