''Bastanak'' ( ar, بستناك) (English: ''Waiting for You'') is the fifth studio album by Lebanese singer Elissa released by Rotana on 16 February 2006, making it her second album released by Rotana Records. The album sold more than 3.7 million copies by October 2006, and earned Elissa the World Music Award for the best-selling artist in the Middle East and North Africa for the second time in a row. As a result, Routledge named Elissa one of the world's most popular singers in 2006. The album included twelve songs and a bonus remix track, many of which have been translated into other languages. "Bastanak" was translated into Turkish, and two versions in Hindi were released as well. "Fatet Sineen" was also transferred to Turkish, and an Egyptian cover was voiced by Hamou Beka. Elissar Zakaria Khoury ( ar, إليسار زكريا خوري; born 27 October 1972), commonly known as Elissa ( ar, إليسا), is a Lebanese recording artist. She is one of Lebanon's most famous singers, and one of the best-known artists in the Arab world. She has been among the highest-selling female Middle Eastern artists since 2005. In 2005, she became the first Lebanese singer to receive the World Music Award for Best Selling Middle Eastern Artist, an award that she received again in 2006 and 2010. ''Ayami Bik'' ( ar, أيامي بيك) (English: ''My Days with You'') is the sixth studio album by Lebanese recording artist Elissa, released on 18 December 2007 by Rotana. Arabic pop music or Arab pop music is a subgenre of pop music and Arabic music. Rotana Music Group ( ar, تسجيلات روتانا, Tasjīlāt Rūtānā) is the Arab world's largest record label. It is owned by the Rotana Group, established by the Nagro Brothers, Mohammed, Khalid, Waleed, Ahmed and Nezar Nagro later sold to the Saudi prince Al Waleed bin Talal, who sometimes personally signs artists to the label. The Lebanese people ( ar, الشعب اللبناني / ALA-LC: ', ) are the people inhabiting or originating from Lebanon. The term may also include those who had inhabited Mount Lebanon and the Anti-Lebanon Mountains prior to the creation of the modern Lebanese state. The major religious groups among the Lebanese people within Lebanon are Shia Muslims (27%), Sunni Muslims (27%), Maronite Christians (21%), Greek Orthodox Christians (8%), Melkite Christians (5%), Druze (5.2%), Protestant Christians (1%). The largest contingent of Lebanese, however, comprise a diaspora in North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Africa, which is predominantly Maronite Christian. Marwan Khoury ( ar, مروان خوري; born February 3, 1968) is a Lebanese singer, writer, composer and music arranger. He has composed hits for artists such as Majida El Roumi, Saber Rebaï, Nawal Al Zoghbi, Assala Nasri, Najwa Karam, Fadl Shaker, Elissa, Carole Samaha, Bassima, and Myriam Fares. Biography Khoury was born in Mazraat Al Toufah, Zgharta District, Lebanon into a Maronite Christian family. He is the third of five children born to Tanyous and Naseema Khoury.
