Baseline Ward
College Ward or Ward 8 (French: ''Quartier Collège'') is a city ward in Ottawa, Canada's west end. The ward covers the neighbourhoods of Bells Corners, Qualicum, Graham Park, Leslie Park, Redwood, Kenson Park, Parkway Park, Bel-Air Park, Bel-Air Heights, Braemar Park, Copeland Park, Briargreen, Centrepointe, Navaho, City View, Ryan Farm, Meadowlands and Crestview. Prior to the 2006 election, College Ward was known as Baseline Ward, and didn't include Bells Corners. It was incorporated into the city with amalgamation in 2001 (elections were held in 2000). Previously, the ward existed on the earlier Ottawa-Carleton Regional Council. The ward is represented on city council by Rick Chiarelli. The ward has an estimated population of 55,000 (2006) and an area of 46.2 km2. The ward is named for Algonquin College. Redwood (Ottawa)
Redwood is a neighbourhood located in Ottawa's west end. The boundaries of the neighbourhood is Greenbank Road to the east, Baseline Road to the south, Morrison Drive (old Ottawa-Nepean border line) to the west and Highway 417 to the north. Its sister neighbourhoods are Qualicum, Leslie Park, and Queensway Terrace. Residential areas and community housing The majority of residents live in apartments and townhouses located on the east and west ends of the neighbourhood. Detached homes are closer to west side along Morrison Drive. The development in the area started in the 1960s and continued throughout the 1970s and 1980s. There are many strips of townhouses on Baseline Road and Draper Avenue. Draper Avenue also runs into the Qualicum community. City View (also known as St. Claire Gardens) is a neighbourhood in College Ward in the west end of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located within the former city of Nepean. Most of the homes in it were built from the 1930s to the 1960s. By the 2000s some of the home were demolished and built into new ones; and they still are today. The area existed as a police village from 1954 to 1974. Centrepointe is a neighbourhood in College Ward in the west end of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was formerly part of the city of Nepean, Ontario, Nepean. It is a newer residential subdivision in the west/central part of Ottawa, developed from 1984 onwards, and is informally bounded by Baseline Road (Ottawa), Baseline Road to the north, Woodroffe Avenue (Ottawa), Woodroffe Avenue to the east, the Canadian National Railway, CN railroad to the south, and the Briargreen subdivision and Forest Ridge Apartments to the west. The housing stock includes approximately 1,000 detached homes, with the remainder mostly townhomes (row houses) and terrace homes. Briargreen is a suburban neighbourhood located in College Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Prior to amalgamation in 2001 it was located in the City of Nepean. The borders of the neighbourhood are Pinecrest Cemetery to the north, Centrepointe to the east, Craig Henry to the south, and Greenbank Road to the west. Copeland Park (Ottawa)
Copeland Park (French: ''Parc Copeland'') is a neighbourhood located in College Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Canada. It is bounded to the west by Agincourt Road, to the south by Baseline Road, to the east by Clyde Avenue and to the north by the Central Experimental Farm Pathway. The community was built in the late 1950s and early 1960s by A.B. Taylor Construction Ltd. The first home was built in 1956. In the 1970s, a 21-storey high-rise called the Castle Hill was built at the corner of Castle Hill Crescent and Clyde Avenue. The high-rise is owned by Minto. Braemar Park
Braemar Park (French: ''Parc Braemar'') is a neighbourhood in College Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded on the north by the Queensway, east on Maitland Drive, south by the Central Experimental Pathway and west by J. H. Putman Public School. Homes in the neighbourhood were built between the late 1950s and early 1960s. The initial development was on Riddell Ave South, with the neighbourhood nearly fully built by 1965. Most of the houses are middle- high class families. On Riddell Street South, there are some townhouses. Originally, Riddell Street started on Carling Avenue in Glabar Park. Bel-Air Heights
Bel-Air Heights (also spelled Bel Air Heights; French: ''Hauteurs Bel Air'') is a neighbourhood in College Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded on the east by Agincourt Road, on the south by Baseline Road, on the west by Navaho Drive and on the north by the Central Experimental Farm Pathway. The neighbourhood is mostly a middle class housing neighbourhood. Most of the homes were built in 1959 and 1960. Construction began by the Campeau Corporation in June 1958. There are a few apartments on Baseline and Navaho that were built later on. The neighbourhood has three parks; Agincourt Park, Ainsley Park and Navaho Park.
