Basanta Choudhury
Basanta Choudhury (also Chowdhury; 5 May 1928 – 20 June 2000) was an Indian actor in Bengali and Hindi films. He worked with directors Asit Sen, Rajen Tarafdar, Ajay Kar and Bijay Bose, often in leading roles. He is a former Sheriff of Kolkata. Choudhury's collection of Kashmiri and Persian shawls were enviable. Director Satyajit Ray admired those collections and used for his masterpieces. Birth and childhood Basanta Chowdhury was born into an affluent Datta Chowdhury family of Andul, Howrah. In the circa year of 1886 AD, his great-great forefather Apurba Krishna Dutta Chaudhuri discontinued with the surname 'Dutta' and moved from his ancestral place Andul to Nagpur to practice Law. Basanta Regmi ( ne, वसन्त रेग्मी) (born 6 April 1986) is a Nepalese professional Cricketer. All-rounder Regmi is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm orthodox spinner. He made his debut for Nepal against Namibia in March 2006. He was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Nepal's first ever One Day International (ODI) match, against the Netherlands, in August 2018. He is the captain of the Kantipur Gurkhas of the Nepal Premier League. He also plays for the APF Club in the National League. Basanta Mullick
Sir Basanta Kumar Mullick (2 August 1868 – 1 October 1931) was an Indian civil servant and judge. Mullick was born in Calcutta, the son of a successful barrister. He was educated in England, at University College School and King's College, Cambridge, and joined the Indian Civil Service in 1887. In 1890 he was posted to Bengal as an assistant magistrate and collector. In 1898 he returned to Cambridge to complete his degree, which he received the following year. On returning to India he was appointed a District and Sessions Judge and in April 1912 he was appointed Remembrancer for Legal Affairs of the newly created Province of Bihar and Orissa. Soon afterwards he was appointed an Additional Judge of the Calcutta High Court and in 1916 became a founding Puisne Judge of the Patna High Court, serving until 1928. Basanta Kumar Biswas (6 February 1895 – 11 May 1915) was an Indian pro-independence activist involved in the Jugantar group who, in December 1912, played a role in the bombing of the Viceroy's parade in what came to be known as the Delhi-Lahore Conspiracy. Biswas was one of the illustrious names of the early pro-independence activists of Bengal and the entire country. He was expert in bomb making and was initiated into revolutionary movement by Jugantar leaders Amarendranath Chattopadhyaya and Rash Behari Bose. Sepoy Basanta Bahadur Rana (born 18 January 1984 in Chamkipur, Nawalparasi District, Nepal) is an Indian athlete who competes in racewalking. He represented India in the 50 km race walk event at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. His personal best in this event before the Games was 4:02:13 and he bettered it by clocking a time of 3:56:48, a new national record. 2012 Summer Olympics Basanta qualified for the Olympics at the 2012 IAAF World Race Walking Cup in Saransk, Russia in May 2012, with a B qualifying standard.
