Barton Myers (born November 6, 1934) is an American architect and president of Barton Myers Associates Inc. in Santa Barbara, California. With a career spanning more than 40 years, Myers is a fellow of the American Institute of Architects and was a member of the Ontario Association of Architects while working in Canada earlier in his career. Early life Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Myers is a descendant of Moses Myers, a businessman who was the first permanent Jewish settler in Norfolk, Virginia. The Federal style townhouse which he built in Norfolk is now later became the Moses Myers House/Chrysler Museum of Art, and Myers has served as an Advisory Committee Board Member to the museum since 1999. ''Barton Fink'' is a 1991 American historical drama, period black comedy psychological thriller film written, produced, edited and directed by the Coen brothers. Set in 1941, it stars John Turturro in the title role as a young New York City playwright who is hired to write scripts for a film studio in Hollywood, and John Goodman as Charlie Meadows, the insurance salesman who lives next door at the run-down Hotel Earle. Barton Zwiebach (born ''Barton Zwiebach Cantor'', October 4, 1954) is a Peruvian string theorist and professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Work Zwiebach's undergraduate work was in Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería in Peru, from which he graduated in 1977. His graduate work was in physics at the California Institute of Technology. Zwiebach obtained his Ph.D. in 1983, working under the supervision of Murray Gell-Mann. He has held postdoctoral positions at the University of California, Berkeley, and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he became an assistant professor of physics in 1987, and a permanent member of the faculty in 1994. Barton Kyle Yount (January 18, 1884 – July 11, 1949) was a United States Army lieutenant general. His most important assignments were carried out in military aviation as a member of the U.S. Army Air Forces. Biography Yount was born in Troy, Ohio. He was a student at the Ohio State University from 1902 to 1903 and then commenced studies at the United States Military Academy, from which he graduated in 1907. Yount was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the 27th Infantry Regiment, and carried out assignments in Cuba, at Ft. Wayne, Michigan, Fort Sheridan, Illinois, on a mapping detail along the Canada–US border, and with 4th Brigade, 2nd Division in Texas City, Texas. Barton Elliott "Barty" Smith (born March 23, 1952) is a former fullback for the National Football League from Richmond, Virginia. High school He graduated from Douglas Freeman High School where he was a four-sport star. Smith was selected as the Virginia High School Player of the Year in 1969. That same year he achieved the highest honor awarded to high school athletes when he was named to the Sunkist High School All-American Football Team. Barton McLean (born 8 April 1938) is an American composer, performer, music reviewer, and writer. Life Barton McLean was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, the son of John and Grace McLean, on April 8, 1938. He graduated from State University of New York (SUNY) Potsdam (BS 1960), Eastman School of Music (MM 1965), where he was a student of Henry Cowell, and Indiana University (DMA 1972). He taught music theory and double bass at SUNY (1960–66), while performing on double bass in jazz groups and the Hudson Valley Philharmonic Orchestra. Joshua Barton Bates (February 29, 1824 – December 27, 1892) was a justice of the Supreme Court of Missouri from 1862 to 1865. Born in St. Louis, Missouri,Onward Bates, ''Bates, Et Al. of Virginia and Missouri'' (1914). Bates was the oldest of seventeen children born to Edward Bates and Julia Davenport Coalter (of whom only four lived to adulthood). He was named for his father's law partner, Joshua Barton, who had been killed in a duel. As a young man, Bates "dropped the Joshua from his name and was thenceforth known as Barton Bates". On March 29, 1849, Bates married Caroline Matilda Thatcher, with whom he had ten children. They settled in Cheneaux, Missouri.
