Bartlett is a census-designated place (CDP) and the main village in the town of Bartlett in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 351 at the 2020 census, out of 3,200 in the entire town of Bartlett. Geography The CDP is in the western part of the town of Bartlett, at the junction of U.S. Route 302 with Bear Notch Road. US 302 leads east and south to North Conway and northwest through Crawford Notch in the White Mountains to Littleton. Bear Notch Road leads south across Bear Notch to New Hampshire Route 112 (the Kancamagus Highway) in Albany, New Hampshire. The Bartlett CDP is bordered to the north by the Saco River, to the west by an unnamed brook east of Albany Brook, to the south by the White Mountain National Forest, and to the east by an unnamed brook that comes down the west side of Big Attitash Mountain, separating the CDP from residential development connected to the Attitash Mountain Resort. North Conway is a census-designated place (CDP) and village in eastern Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 2,116 at the 2020 census. Attitash Mountain Resort
Attitash Mountain Resort is a ski area located on U.S. Route 302 in Bartlett, New Hampshire, near North Conway. Constructed in 1938 by the Works Progress Administration, as of October 2019, Attitash is operated by Vail Resorts (after being purchased from the previous owners, Peak Resorts). It operates under a special-use permit with the White Mountain National Forest. Located in the heart of the White Mountains, Attitash is home to two mountains, Attitash and Bear Peak. White Mountain National Forest
The White Mountain National Forest (WMNF) is a federally managed forest contained within the White Mountains in the northeastern United States. It was established in 1918 as a result of the Weeks Act of 1911; federal acquisition of land had already begun in 1914. It has a total area of (1,225 sq mi). Most of the WMNF is in New Hampshire; a small part (about 5.65% of the forest) is in the neighboring state of Maine. New Hampshire Route 112 (abbreviated NH 112) is a east–west state highway in northern New Hampshire. The highway winds across the state, connecting Bath to Conway through the heart of the scenic and mountainous White Mountain National Forest. The eastern portion of NH 112 is known as the Kancamagus Highway, running through the White Mountains from Lincoln to Conway. of the highway have been designated a National Scenic Byway by the United States Department of Transportation under the name "Kancamagus Scenic Byway".
