Barry Rubinow (born 1956) is a film executive and editor, born in Glen Rock, New Jersey, a suburb of New York City.. Currently, he lives in West Hills, Los Angeles, California. Education Rubinow received his Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University with a major in English and Psychology in 1978. In 1981, he completed a Master of Fine Arts at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California. Career Rubinow is the Senior Vice President of Documentary Channel (American TV channel), Documentary Channel, where he supervises all original production and post production. DOC is the first channel in the United States to show documentaries on a full-time basis. The Documentary Channel was created in 1998 and is currently on the Dish Network, Channel 197. ''Lords of BSV'' is a 2016 American documentary film directed by Maria Soccor about bruk up dancing, a dance style that originated in Jamaica, West Indies in the early 1990s. The film premiered on April 9, 2015, at the Riverside International Film Festival and made its digital television debut on Red Bull TV on July 30, 2016. Production In 2014, actress Soccor began writing, directing, and producing documentaries. After seeing them dance first-hand, Soccor decided that her first film as director would be to tell the story of the brukup (also stylized as bruck up) dancers in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of New York City. The film was licensed by Red Bull Media House, which released it online in July 2016. It was the longest screening film on their platform. ''Beakman's World'' is an American educational children's television program. The program is based on the Universal Press Syndicate syndicated comic strip ''You Can with Beakman and Jax'' created by Jok Church. The series premiered on Wednesday, September 16, 1992, on TLC, and on various other channels a few days later through syndication on 220 other channels. On September 18, 1993, it moved from national syndication to CBS's Saturday morning children's lineup. At the peak of its popularity, it was seen in nearly ninety countries around the world.
