Lords Of BSV
''Lords of BSV'' is a 2016 American documentary film directed by Maria Soccor about bruk up dancing, a dance style that originated in Jamaica, West Indies in the early 1990s. The film premiered on April 9, 2015, at the Riverside International Film Festival and made its digital television debut on Red Bull TV on July 30, 2016. Production In 2014, actress Soccor began writing, directing, and producing documentaries. After seeing them dance first-hand, Soccor decided that her first film as director would be to tell the story of the brukup (also stylized as bruck up) dancers in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of New York City. The film was licensed by Red Bull Media House, which released it online in July 2016. It was the longest screening film on their platform. Maria Soccor
Maria Soccor is an American actor, director, and producer. Her acting credits include '' Another World'' (1998), '' Pizza My Heart'' (2005), '' K-Ville'' (2007), and '' NCIS: New Orleans'' (2015) as well as a number of short films and television films. Biography Soccor got her start at the age of 13 modeling in print ads for various beauty and Fortune 500 companies. She studied acting in Orange, New Jersey at The Children's Matinee Workshop under Gwen Guthrie. In her senior year of high school, in 1992, she won first place in the annual national America's Junior Miss scholarship pageant as a representative from Essex County, New Jersey. She continued her acting studies under the late three-time Tony Award winner Uta Hagen before appearing on Broadway and in several Off-Broadway productions. Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute (LHPAI) is a cultural, community, and artistic center in the Central District of Seattle, Washington, USA. It was founded in 1969 and named after the writer and leader of the Harlem Renaissance, Langston Hughes. It is at 104 17th Avenue South and was built as a synagogue in 1915 designed by Marcus Priteca. He was also the architect of many theaters. It is designated as a Seattle landmark.
