Barry Mills (producer)
Barry Mills is an American film producer, director, writer, and voice actor. Mills grew up in Pine Mountain, Georgia. Early work Barry Mills started his career by writing and producing promos and bumpers for TBS and TNT in the early 1990s. As a hobby, he videotaped live bands such as the Mekons, Butthole Surfers, and Sonic Youth. Mills also started Atlanta's first underground hip-hop radio show "Macadocious In Effect" on WRFG, which featured a host of guest DJs including the debut of Lil Jon. Rudy and GoGo In 1995 Barry and his friend, author Jack Pendarvis, created the TV show ''The Rudy and Gogo World Famous Cartoon Show'' for TBS, but ended up getting picked up by TNT and premiered in July of '95. Pine Mountain, Harris County, Georgia
Pine Mountain is a town in Harris and Meriwether counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,304, up from 1,141 at the 2000 census. The Harris County portion of Pine Mountain is part of the Columbus, GA- AL Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the small portion that extends into Meriwether County is part of the Atlanta-Sandy Springs- Roswell Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The town began in 1882 when the railroad spread to Pine Mountain from Columbus, and until 1958, the community was known as "Chipley". The Popeye Show
''The Popeye Show'' (Originally titled I'm Popeye) is an American cartoon anthology series that premiered on October 29, 2001, on Cartoon Network. Each episode includes three ''Popeye'' theatrical shorts from Fleischer Studios and/or Famous Studios. The show is narrated by Bill Murray (not to be confused with the film actor of the same name), who gives the audience short facts about the history of the cartoons as filler material between each short. Animation historian Jerry Beck served as a consultant and Barry Mills served as writer and producer. A total of 45 episodes were produced, consisting of a total of 135 shorts. Black comedy, also known as dark comedy, morbid humor, or gallows humor, is a style of comedy that makes light of subject matter that is generally considered taboo, particularly subjects that are normally considered serious or painful to discuss. Jon Langford
Jonathan Denis Langford (born 11 October 1957) is a Welsh musician and artist based in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Langford is a founder member of the punk band The Mekons, the post-punk group The Three Johns, and the alternative country ensembles The Waco Brothers and Pine Valley Cosmonauts. He has campaigned against the death penalty in Illinois. Hampton Grease Band
The Hampton Grease Band was an American rock band, beginning as a blues rock group in the late 1960s in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. They performed with several major bands in this period, including Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers. The band gained a reputation for wacky stage antics, and eventually garnered enough attention to sign to Columbia Records. They recorded a double album, ''Music to Eat'' (June 1971), which is apocryphally said to have been the second-lowest selling album in Columbia's history, second only to a yoga instructional record. This record compared with Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention, and Pere Ubu. The band then signed to Frank Zappa's Bizarre and Straight labels, but broke up in 1973. Bloodshot Records is an independent record label based in Chicago, Illinois, which specializes in alternative country. History Bloodshot Records was founded in 1994 by Nan Warshaw, Rob Miller, and Eric Babcock, who knew each other from jobs in the music industry and from being active in was then a burgeoning underground country-roots music scene. Warshaw had been promoting, booking, and managing bands for years and also worked as a publicist for the band Killbilly, which released a record on Flying Fish Records, where Babcock worked. Jesse Bonds Weaver Jr. (born June 22, 1962), better known by the stage name Schoolly D (sometimes spelled Schooly D), is an American rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. ''Sealab 2021'' is an American adult animated television series created by Adam Reed and Matt Thompson for Cartoon Network's late-night programming block, Adult Swim. Cartoon Network aired the show's first three episodes in December 2000 before the official inception of the Adult Swim block on September 2, 2001, with the final episode airing on April 24, 2005.
