Barra Futebol Clube, usually known as Barra or Barra-SC, is a Brazilian football club from Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina. The club is mainly notable due to holding the federative rights of some players, like Yann Rolim, Guilherme Biteco and deceased Matheus Biteco. History Founded in 2013 by a number of businessmen, Barra only played in the lower divisions of the Campeonato Catarinense. In their first division, the club suffered relegation from the Série B, and only returned to the category in 2016, after winning the previous year's Série C unbeaten. From 2016 onwards, Barra achieved mid-table positions in the second level. Itajaí () is a municipality in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. It is located on the northern central coast of Santa Catarina and is part of the Vale do Itajaí Mesoregion, on the right bank of the Itajaí-Açu river mouth. The Campeonato Catarinense de Futebol, known as Campeonato Catarinense or simply Catarinense, is the main competition of association football from state of Santa Catarina, in Brazil. History The Campeonato Catarinense top level has had several different names since it started. From its first edition, in 1924, to 1985, it was called just Campeonato Catarinense (Santa Catarina Championship). From 1986 to 2003, it was named Campeonato Catarinense Primeira Divisão (Santa Catarina Championship Premier Division). Balneário Camboriú () is a coast beach city in the Brazilian southern state of Santa Catarina. The city, with its steep hills dropping down to the sea, is popular amongst South Americans. The main ocean boulevard is called ''Avenida Atlântica'' (Atlantic Avenue). Balneário Camboriú is famous for the cable car which (uniquely in the world) links the city's central beach and the beach of Laranjeiras.
