Bryan Barley
Bryan Barley was a former England international rugby union centre. He was educated at Normanton Grammar School and Leeds University where he studied economics and mathematics. He joined Wakefield RFCin 1978 converting thirteen of Wakefield's seventeen tries (a club record) on his debut. He continued to play for the club until 1993, playing in over 300 games and he was the first Wakefield player to be selected for England direct from the club since Jack Ellis in 1939. On leaving Wakefield he joined Sandal RFC. David Ingall in the club history book describes how "he brought both power and subtlety to the outside centre position, with an eye for the smallest gap in the defence or the pace and strength to carry him round his opponent. Les Barley (born in Gretna, Virginia) is a former NFL, CFL and Arena Football League fullback and linebacker. William Barley
William Barley (1565?–1614) was an English bookseller and publisher. He completed an apprenticeship as a draper in 1587, but was soon working in the London book trade. As a freeman of the Drapers' Company, he was embroiled in a dispute between it and the Stationers' Company over the rights of drapers to function as publishers and booksellers. He found himself in legal tangles throughout his life. Barley's role in Elizabethan music publishing has proved to be a contentious issue among scholars.Miller and Smith The assessments of him range from "a man of energy, determination, and ambition", to "somewhat remarkable", to "surely to some extent a rather nefarious figure". Katarina Barley (born 19 November 1968) is a German politician and lawyer who has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2019, serving as one of its Vice-Presidents.
