Barkat Siddiqui is a veteran Pakistani television director, producer and actor. He is best known for his directing drama serial ''Ahsaas'' on PTV in 2001 and ''Mujhe Khuda Pe Yaqeen Hai'' on Hum TV in 2013 for which he earned nominations as Best Director Drama Serial and Best Drama Serial at 2nd Hum Awards. Barkat Ali Ghulam Hussain Virani, known by his pen name Befām, was Gujarati author and poet especially known for his ghazals. Life Barkat Ali was born on 25 November 1923 in Ghanghali village near Sihor in Bhavnagar district. He was interested in literature since age of fourteen when he wrote his first ghazal. He completed his primary and secondary education from Bhavnagar. He was taught poetry by Qismat Qureshi. He left matriculation to participate in 1942 Quit India Movement. Abul Barkat (born September 27, 1954) is a Bangladeshi economist and a professor in the Department of Economics, University of Dhaka. In addition to his teaching, from 2009 to 2014 he was the former chairman of Janata Bank Ltd. He is the present elected president of the Bangladesh Economic Association. He is a freedom fighter. Nir Barkat ( he, נִיר בַּרְקָת; born 19 October 1959) is an Israeli businessman and politician. He served as mayor of Jerusalem between the years 2008–2018. Biography Nir Barkat was raised in Jerusalem. His father, Zalman, was a professor of physics at the Hebrew University. His great-grandfather came from Russia to Mandatory Palestine in the 1920s, and died in 1924. Barkat served in the Paratroopers Brigade of the Israel Defense Forces for six years (1977-1983), as well as reserve duty, and reached the rank of Major. Barkat was also wounded in combat in Lebanon. Sidi Mohamed Barkat (born 1948 in Oran) is an Algerian philosopher employed in Paris. He was an associate researcher at the psychology of work and action laboratory at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers. After several years of employment by the university, where he was mainly occupied with questions of epistemology in the social sciences, Sidi Mohammed Barkat directed a research programme at the Collège international de philosophie in Paris on the image and condition of "the native Algerian" from 1998 to 2004. He proposed a conception of legal, political and social character based on the terminology of the ''corps d'exception'' (body of exclusion).
