Barcelona ( kw, Krows Trevelowen, meaning ''Cross at Trelawne'') is a hamlet in the parish of Pelynt in south-east Cornwall, England, UK. Geography Barcelona () is a hamlet, in south-east Cornwall, on the A387 road, between Polperro and Looe. It is west of Looe, north of the coast at Talland Bay and south-west of Pelynt, the churchtown of the parish of the same name. History Trelawne Manor ( kw, Trev Elowen, meaning ''farm of the elm tree'') lies immediately north of Barcelona and was formerly the ancestral home of the Trelawney family (a Cornish family tracing back to the Medevial period). It is now a leisure complex and holiday park. Sport Pelynt Football Club played their home matches at Barcelona and had named their ground "the New Camp", due to having the same name as FC Barcelona of Spain who play at the Camp Nou. The Duchy League is a football competition based in the eastern half of Cornwall, United Kingdom, but also includes a few sides from over the border in Devon. The League was formed in 1965 as a merger of the Liskeard & District League and the St. Austell & District League. It has three divisions headed by the Duchy League Premier Division, which sits at level 13 of the English football league system. It is a feeder to the East Cornwall League. The Trelawny, later Salusbury-Trelawny Baronetcy, of Trelawny in the County of Cornwall, is a title in the Baronetage of England. It was created on 1 July 1628 for John Trelawny of Trelawny in the parish of Pelynt in Cornwall. Talland Bay
Talland ( kw, Tallan) is a hamlet and ecclesiastical parish between Looe and Polperro on the south coast of Cornwall (the parish includes the eastern part of the village of Polperro, where there is a chapel of ease and formerly also the town of West Looe). It is in the civil parish of Polperro and consists of a church, the Old Vicarage and a few houses. On Talland Bay are two sheltered shingle beaches, Talland Sand and Rotterdam Beach, and the bay was once well known as a landing spot for smugglers. Pelynt
Pelynt ( kw, Pluwnennys, Pluwnonna) is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is 20 miles (32 km) west of Plymouth and four miles (6.5 km) west-northwest of Looe. Pelynt had a population of around 1,124 at the 2001 census which increased to 1,296 at the 2011 census. In addition, an electoral ward with the same name exists but extends towards Widegates avoiding Looe at all times. The population in 2011 for this ward was 4,453. Looe
Looe (; kw, Logh, ) is a coastal town and civil parish in south-east Cornwall, England, with a population of 5,280 at the 2011 census. Looe is west of Plymouth and south of Liskeard, divided in two by the River Looe, East Looe ( kw, links=no, Logh) and West Looe ( kw, links=no, Porthbyhan, "little cove") being connected by a bridge.
