Barbara Kellerman
Barbara Rose Kellerman (originally spelt Kellermann; born 30 December 1949) is an English actress, known for her film and television roles. She trained at Rose Bruford College. Kellerman was born in Manchester, Lancashire. Her Jewish father, Walter Kellermann (1915–2012), had fled Nazi Germany and settled in Leeds, where he became a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics at the University of Leeds. Her mother, Marcelle, was a member of the French Resistance during the Second World War who became a teacher of modern foreign languages. ''The Sea Wolves'' is a 1980 war film starring Gregory Peck, Roger Moore and David Niven. The film, which is based on the 1978 book ''Boarding Party'' by James Leasor, is a fictionalised account of Operation Creek during the Second World War. In the covert mission, the Calcutta Light Horse, part of the Cavalry Reserve in the British Indian Army, successfully sank a German merchant ship in Mormugão Harbour in neutral Portugal's territory of Goa, India on 9 March 1943. The ship had a secret radio which was transmitting information about Allied shipping to U-boats operating in the Indian Ocean. Lady Of The Green Kirtle
The Lady of the Green Kirtle, also called Queen of Underland and Queen of the Deep Realm, is the main antagonist in ''The Silver Chair'' by C. S. Lewis. She is sometimes called briefly the ''Green Lady'' (on analogy with Jadis, the ''White Lady''), and she is known also as the ''Emerald Witch''; neither name, however, appears in Lewis's text. She enslaved Prince Rilian of Narnia and a horde of gnomes by her witchcraft, and planned to use them to take over Narnia. White Witch
Jadis is the main antagonist of '' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'' (1950) and ''The Magician's Nephew'' (1955) in C. S. Lewis's series, ''The Chronicles of Narnia''. She is commonly referred to as the White Witch in ''The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'', as she is the Witch who froze Narnia in the Hundred Years Winter. Some recent editions of the books include brief notes, added by later editors, that describe the cast of characters. As Lewis scholar Peter Schakel points out, the notes' description of Jadis and the Queen of Underland (the main antagonist of ''The Silver Chair'') "states incorrectly that the Queen of Underland is an embodiment of Jadis". ''The Mad Death'' is a television serial made by BBC Scotland. It was filmed in 1981 and transmitted 2 years later in 1983. Plot The three-part series examined the effects of an outbreak of rabies in the United Kingdom and was noted for its occasionally chilling content. Production The music for the opening titles consisted of a voice whispering the first four lines of '' All Things Bright and Beautiful'' over a montage of animals' faces, distorted by a rippling water effect, symbolising the hydrophobia caused by rabies. The episodes were filmed around Scotland including inside East Kilbride Shopping Centre. The series has only ever been repeated once on BBC television, in 1985, although it was later shown on UK Gold in the 1990s.
