Barbara Everest
Barbara Everest (19 June 1890 – 9 February 1968) was a British stage and film actress. She was born in Southfields, Surrey, and made her screen debut in the 1916 film ''The Man Without a Soul''. On stage she played Queen Anne in the 1935 historical play '' Viceroy Sarah'' by Norman Ginsbury. Her most famous rôle was as Elizabeth the rather deaf servant in Gaslight (1944). Southfields is a district of inner London located within the London Borough of Wandsworth, England, 5.6 miles (9 km) south-west of Charing Cross. Southfields is mainly residential, historically a part of Wandsworth itself, and is divided between the SW postcode area, SW18 and SW19 postcode areas. ''The World, the Flesh and the Devil'' is a 1959 American science fiction doomsday film written and directed by Ranald MacDougall. The film stars Harry Belafonte, who was then at the peak of his film career. The film is set in a post-apocalyptic world with very few human survivors.
