Baranagar Metro Station
Baranagar metro station is a metro railway station off Barrackpore Trunk Road at Dunlop of Baranagar in Kolkata. Presently, this metro station is the tallest metro station of Kolkata (approximately 55 feet). The metro station adjoins the platforms of the Baranagar Road railway station where connections can be made with Indian Railways services. This station is also known as "Swami Vivekananda metro station". The station was inaugurated on 22 February 2021. History Then in February 2019, the metro line to the Dakshineswar station was projected to be operational by February 2020. A slightly delayed March 2020 projected operation date was announced in late 2019. And a July 2020 projected operation date was mentioned in February 2020. Sodepur
Sodepur or Sodpur is a locality in Panihati, Panihati Municipality of North 24 Parganas district in the Indian States and territories of India, state of West Bengal. The Calcutta Chord link line, also known as the C.C. link line, is a long branch line of the Kolkata Suburban Railway which comes under the jurisdiction of Eastern Railway's Sealdah Division & Howrah Division. The line directly connects the Sealdah railway station (erstwhile Calcutta railway station) on the east bank of the Hooghly River with the Howrah–Bardhaman chord line at the Dankuni Junction on the west bank of the Hooghly River via the Vivekananda Setu. Kavi Subhash Metro Station
The Kavi Subhash Metro Station, formerly New Garia Metro Station, is the southern terminal station of the Kolkata Metro Line 1 (North-South Corridor) of Kolkata Metro in Kolkata, India. It is named after poet Subhash Mukhopadhyay. This station was opened to public on the auspicious day of Mahalaya in 2010. Noapara Metro Station is the largest station of the Kolkata Metro Line 1 situated in Noapara, Baranagar. It opened on 10 July 2013. These include four platforms with lengths of 182 meters, unlike other Kolkata Metro stations. It serves the localities of Noapara, Tobin Road and Bonhooghly. The station has 2 stories, with 6 escalators and 4 elevators. There are also 31 CCTV cameras for increased security. Dakshineswar metro station is the northern terminal station of the Kolkata Metro Line 1. The metro station adjoins the platforms of the Dakshineswar railway station where connections can be made with Indian Railways services. History A northward extension from Dum Dum to Dakshineswar (6.20 km .85 mi was sanctioned and included in the 2010–11 budget at a cost of ₹227.53 crore (equivalent to ₹411 crore or US$58 million in 2019). Construction for the station and the section started in 2017. In December 2017, the metro line to the Dakshineswar station was projected to be operational by May 2019. The Baranagar to Barrackpore, 12.50 km metro corridor (Line 5) in North 24 Parganas, is another line of Kolkata Metro, was sanctioned in 2009, at a cost of Rs.2070 crore, to enable a quicker commute from the northern suburbs to Kolkata, via North Kolkata. Route Map Stations (South to North) The stations in this line are: Proposed realignment State government proposed for realigning the line via Kalyani Expressway, instead of B.T. Road, due to the presence of arterial water pipelines, that supply water to the city, below BT Road.
