Bar Point is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, located on the north bank of the Hawkesbury River north of Sydney. It is part of the local government area. Geography Bar Point is bounded by the Hawkesbury River to the west and south, Marlows Gully to the north, and the M1 Pacific Motorway and Pacific Highway to the east, beyond which is the Brisbane Water National Park. The locality is home to the southern section of the Popran National Park, accessible via four-wheel drive from Mount White to the north. Below the national park along the Hawkesbury River coastline are a number of properties accessible only by boat or by water taxi from Brooklyn downstream, as well as Bar Point Estate on the point itself. The Hawkesbury River, or Hawkesbury-Nepean River, is a river located northwest of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The Hawkesbury River and its associated main tributary, the Nepean River, almost encircle the metropolitan region of Sydney. The Popran National Park is a protected national park that is located west of the M1 Pacific Motorway in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The Park takes its name from Popran Creek which rises in the locality of Central Mangrove and then flows for approximately 24 km in a mostly southern direction until it reaches Mangrove Creek. The Pacific Motorway, signposted M1, is a stretch of motorway linking Sydney to the Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter regions of New South Wales.
