Bar, Corrèze
Bar () is a commune in the Corrèze department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of central France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Barois'' or ''Baroises''. Geography Bar is located some 40 km north-east of Brive-la-Gaillarde and 8 km north of Tulle. Access to the commune is by the D53 road which branches from the D1120 west of the commune and passes through the narrow neck of the commune before continuing north as the D32 to Orliac-de-Bar. The D53 also continues south from the village through the heart of the commune to Gimel-les-Cascades. The D23 comes from Tulle in the south and passes through the commune and the village continuing north-east to join the D26 near Corrèze. The D173 comes from Le Lonzac in the north down the western arm of the commune and passes south to join the D53 in the commune. Geography Location Seilhac is located approximately equal distance from Tulle, Brive-la-Gaillarde and Uzerche. Close to the A89 and A20 motorways, the country of Seilhac represents a natural border between the Corrèze and the Vézère valleys. The communal territory is thus watered by the Brézou, tributary of the Vézère, and by the Céronne, tributary of the Corrèze river. Located on the foothills of the Massif Central, the commune has a hilly terrain characterised by wooded hills and mini-plateau with average heights ranging from 420 to 547 metres in the Puy des Ferrières. Vézère
The Vézère (; oc, Vesera) is a 211-km-long river in southwestern France. It is an important tributary to the Dordogne. Its source is in the northwestern part of the elevated plateau known as the Massif Central. It flows into the Dordogne near Le Bugue. A tributary of the Vézère is the Corrèze. The Vézère Valley is famed for its prehistoric cave systems, containing numerous cave paintings and hominid remains. UNESCO collectively designated these a World Heritage Site in 1979.
