Baptiste Vignes
Baptiste Vignes (15 April 1985 – 12 April 2022) was a french pilot, instructor, and international aerobatics champion. Biography Vignes grew up in Le Havre and obtained his pilot's license at the Le Havre's Jean-Maridor flying club at a young age. He then trained as an aerobatic pilot at the Bernay-Saint-Martin flying club in the Eure department. He died with Simon de la Bretèche following the crash of Aura Aero's "Integral R" aerobatic aircraft prototype during a flight test. An investigation by the French State Aviation Safety Accident Investigation Board was started, as well as a judicial investigation by the Ariège Gendarmerie and the Gendarmerie of air transport. Simon De La Bretèche
Simon de la Bretèche (07 August 1982 – 12 April 2022) was a pilot, aeronautical engineer and international aerobatic competitor. Biography Simon spent his youth in Ancinnes, Sarthe. He made his debut in aeronautics at the age of 14 at the Aéroclub d'Alençon to which he will always remain attached. Then, he trained in aerobatics at the regional aeroclub of Caen with his instructor/mentor: Patrick Gigot. In 2005, he obtained a Master of Science degree in aeronautics from the Institut polytechnique des sciences avancées. He then worked in Toulouse for Sogeclair Aerospace, an Airbus subcontractor. In May 2020, he was hired by the company Aura Aero as an engineer to work on an aerobatic plane called Integral R. Aerobatic Pilots
Aerobatics is the practice of flying maneuvers involving aircraft attitudes that are not used in conventional passenger-carrying flights. The term is a portmanteau of "aerial" and "acrobatics". Red Bull Air Race World Championship
The World Championship Air Race is a series of air races sanctioned by the World Air Sports Federation (FAI). Originally established in 2003 as the Red Bull Air Race, and created by Red Bull GmbH, the event involves competitors navigating a challenging obstacle course in the fastest time.
