Bangladesh Film Censor Board is a regulatory agency that is responsible for the censorship of movies and is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. History The censor board was set up in 1977 following the framing of Bangladesh Censorship of Film Rules. The agency is responsible for the censorship of locally produced movies, foreign imports and acts as the registration of film clubs in Bangladesh. Martuza Ahmed the secretary of Ministry of Information is the ex-officio chairman of the board. The board in 2015 blocked ''My Bicycle'', the first chakma language (a minority language) in Bangladesh. The Censor also blocked a movie about the Rana Plaza building collapse in which more than a thousand garment workers died. The 2013 Rana Plaza factory collapse (also referred to as the 2013 Savar building collapse or the Collapse of Rana Plaza) was a structural failure that occurred on 24 April 2013 in the Savar Upazila of Dhaka District, Bangladesh, where an eight-story commercial building called Rana Plaza collapsed. The search for the dead ended on 13 May 2013 with a death toll of 1,134. Approximately 2,500 injured people were rescued from the building. It is considered the deadliest non-deliberate structural failure accident in modern human history, the deadliest garment-factory disaster in history and the deadliest industrial accident in the history of Bangladesh.
