Bananaman - Beano Superhero
Bananaman is a fictional character appearing in British comic books. Bananaman is a parody of traditional superheroes, being portrayed as a schoolboy who is transformed into a muscled, caped adult man when he eats a banana. The character originally appeared in ''Nutty'' as the back page strip in Issue 1, dated 16 February 1980 drawn by John Geering. He has since appeared in ''The Dandy'' and ''The Beano''. Captain Britain is a title used by various superheroes in comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with Excalibur. Kev F. Sutherland (born 18 October 1961) is a Scottish comedian and comic strip creator. He has drawn for a variety of publications, including ''The Beano''. He has produced several shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, including The Sitcom Trials and The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre. Early life He was born in Aberdeen and raised from age 6 in the village of Kibworth in Leicestershire. His paternal grandmother was the writer and photographer Jean Sutherland. In 1983 he graduated from Exeter College of Art and Design. Nigel Auchterlounie
Nigel Auchterlounie is a British comics artist and cartoonist. His graphic novel, ''Spleenal'', was published by Blank Slate Books in 2009. His artwork also featured heavily in the children's comic The Dandy, often writing the strips himself. For the final print Dandy celebrating its 75th anniversary, Nigel drew The Bogies, My Freaky Family, Tom Tum, Bertie Buncle and his Chemical Uncle, Joe White and the Seven Dwarves, Old King Cole, Korky the Cat and Jibber and Steve as well as writing The Jocks and the Geordies. Bully Beef and Chips was a British comic strip, created by Jimmy Hughes. It first appeared in 1967 in the British comics magazine ''The Dandy''. Concept The strip told the story of two warring boys – a tall, ugly thug called Bully Beef and a softer, more cunning boy called Chips. The name "Bully Beef and Chips" comes from a quickly-prepared meal – corned beef and chips – with "Bully beef" being a phrase used for "corned beef". Stories of these two were identically themed – Bully Beef (Beefy) would constantly play violent tricks on Chips, who would then get his climactic revenge in some way right at the end.
