Ballygiblin GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located outside Mitchelstown, County Cork, Ireland. The club is solely concerned with the game of hurling. They currently compete in the Cork Intermediate A Hurling Championship. The club plays in the Avondhu division of Cork GAA. In January 2023, the club won the All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship. The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. Bob Honohan
Robert P. Honohan (born 1940) is an Irish Gaelic football coach, selector and former player. At club he played with Donoughmore and Mitchelstown, divisional side Avondhu and at inter-county level with the Cork minor and junior teams. In a lengthy coaching career, Honohan has had All-Ireland successes at different inter-county levels. Playing career Honohan began his club career with Donoughmore before transferring to the Mitchelstown club after taking a teaching post in the town. He was at centre-forward when his adopted club won the 1965 Cork IFC title after beating St. Vincent's in the final. Honohan enjoyed further success by winning three North Cork JAFC titles in five seasons between 1969 and 1973. His performances at club level earned his inclusion on the Avondhu divisional team, while he also played hurling with the Ballygiblin club. Darragh Flynn
Darragh Flynn (born 2002) is an Irish hurler who plays for Cork Intermediate Championship club Ballygiblin. He also joined the Cork senior hurling team in advance of the 2022 season. Career Flynn played hurling competitively at juvenile and underage levels with the Ballygiblin club. He later progressed onto the club's top adult team and won a County Junior A Championship title in 2021. By this stage Flynn was a member of the Cork minor hurling team during the 2019 Munster Minor Championship. He later won consecutive All-Ireland Under-20 Championship titles with the under-20 team. Flynn's performances in this grade earned a call-up to the senior team training panel in December 2021. The Cork county football team represents Cork in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Cork GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Munster Senior Football Championship and the National Football League. The North Cork Junior A Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Hibernian Hotel Junior A Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Avondhu Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1925 for junior hurling teams in North Cork. The 2021 Cork Junior A Hurling Championship was the 124th staging of the Cork Junior A Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1895. The championship began on 6 November 2021 and ended on 20 November 2021. The final was played on 20 November 2021 at Páirc Uí Rinn in Cork, between Ballygiblin and Dromtarriffe, in what was their first ever meeting in a final. The 2022 Cork Premier Junior Hurling Championship was the inaugural staging of the Cork Premier Junior Hurling Championship. The draw for the group stage placings took place on 8 February 2022. The championship ran from 29 July to 15 October 2022. The final was played on 15 October 2022 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork, between Tracton and Ballygiblin, in what was their first ever meeting in the final.
