Balbir Punj is an eminent journalist and columnist from India. For more than two and a half decades, Punj has been writing on current topics in important Hindi-English newspapers, magazines. He specializes in dealing with social, economic, and political issues. He has also invited to speak on various subjects by many public fora and is known for his clarity and articulation. Punj started his career in journalism for the publication Motherland in 1971. He also worked for Financial Express from 1974 to 1996. Gurdaspur District
Gurdaspur district is a district in the Majha region of the state of Punjab, India. Gurdaspur is the district headquarters. It internationally borders Narowal District of Pakistani Punjab, and the districts of Amritsar, Pathankot, Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur. Two main rivers Beas and Ravi passes through the district. The Mughal emperor Akbar is said to have been enthroned in a garden near Kalanaur, a historically important town in the district. The district is at the foothills of the Himalayas. Narayani Gupta
Narayani Gupta (born 13 November 1942) is an Indian historian, author, and professor (retired) at Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. She taught at Indraprastha College from 1966 before joining Jamia Millia Islamia University in 1988. From 1991 to 1995, she taught at the TVB School of Habitat Studies. She is the author of works on urban history, particularly the history of Delhi. Her book, ''Delhi between Two Empires'', based on her doctoral thesis was recognised by reviewers as 'groundbreaking'. She is a founder-member and former president (1986–88) of the Conservation Society of Delhi which emerged out of the Environment Group. Yamīn-ud-Dawla Abul-Qāṣim Maḥmūd ibn Sebüktegīn ( fa, ; 2 November 971 – 30 April 1030), usually known as Mahmud of Ghazni or Mahmud Ghaznavi ( fa, ), was the founder of the Turkic Ghaznavid dynasty, ruling from 998 to 1030. Rohith Chakravarti Vemula was an Indian PhD scholar at the University of Hyderabad. From July 2015, the university stopped paying Rohith his monthly stipend of (excluding HRA), with friends alleging that he was targeted for raising issues on campus under the banner of Ambedkar Students' Association (ASA), an Ambedkarite student organization.
